Would the Sabres look on a 3 way offer from Edmonton/Anaheim like below for Eichel:
To Buffalo:
Holloway, Comtois, Koskinen, Edmonton's 1st 2022-top 5 protected
Anaheim's 1st 2022-Anaheim has the option for the pick to becomes 2023 1st pick if Eichel plays less than 25 games in 2022

To Edmonton:(2022-1st-top 5 protected, Koskinen, Holloway) : Gibson

To Anaheim:( out Comtois, 2022-ANA-1st with conditions, Gibson) : Eichel

I'd expect Sabres have no reason to decline this, if actually offered
(seems maybe overpay from EDM for Gibson, but they are addressing key need)

I continue to doubt the return to Buff will reach that height, it seems a 1st too much, based on precedent, on injury risk, and given Cap Hit

IF the online belief turns out true, that Eichel could return this huge a package,
~3 recent/future 1st's, plus a starting G, plus a very high upside young prospect (Comtois in this proposal)
then this proposal may be reasonable.

the symmetry is certainly cute, both Ana and Edm chipping in a 1st, a starting G and a blue-chip F prospect

Bill Daly makes it clear that the NHL will not push one direction or the other because the league does not feel it is their place to step in because both sides have valid, contractually based arguments.

Daly talks Eichel started around the 37:00 mark.

Bill Daly Q&A: Seattle's launch, Pat Brisson's impact on Jack Eichel, ESPN vs. TNT and talks with Robin Lehner

Jack Eichel is still on the Buffalo Sabres. He has not had surgery on his neck. That’s a contentious debate between a team and a very high-profile player. And I want to know, if you — as in the league — had any sort of appetite to intervene and play mediator and deal with that, in one way or another. Because this is a situation that’s at loggerheads and has been for six months. We’re moving toward a resolution now, but it’s been quite a long time.

Well, it’s a fair question, I think we’ve made ourselves available to both parties in the dispute, to be of assistance to the extent we can be. And that continues to this day, that communication. Those lines of communication are open, and we’re here as a resource to provide assistance to the extent we can.

Having said that, they each have their own vested interests in what’s going on here, and it’s not our place to interfere with those vested interests, or to rule one way or the other as some would have us do. They each have their arguments. They each have valid arguments. They each have contractually based arguments. So if it was a matter of that was open to interpretation, where we could throw a lightning bolt fairly, we would, but that’s not what this situation is, unfortunately.

At the end of the day, it’s going to be resolved by the parties themselves. I think since Pat Brisson has been brought on by Jack, to counsel the situation for Jack, I think certainly the lines of communication between the Eichel camp and the Sabres are far more open than they were before. They understand each other’s points and arguments, and they’re trying to find something that will work for both parties. So let’s hope they can do that.

So it feels like they better understand each other, versus a month ago or two months ago? Are we turning in the right direction there?

Yeah, I think so. Pat came in and tried to learn as much as he could about the different issues in a short time period. But I think he also, one, had an established relationship with the organization, but also worked hard to build a better relationship — a more open and transparent relationship — with both the ownership in Buffalo but also the management team in Buffalo. So they’re pulling in the same direction to try to get a resolution, but they’re doing it obviously from different sides of the river.

For those that didn't want to listen to Bill Daly interview.

hummm I'm going to try very hard not to look too deeply into this

Each month that no trade happens the closer it gets to his NMC happening and he could agree to only waive for Boston, NYI and NYR.

Eichel and Bergeron gets Boston back to the Cup Finals imo.
Fills a much needed vacancy left by Krejci except that Eichel will be 1C in Boston and Bergeron gets bumped down to 2C.

It's not news that he is a big Boston sports fan.

This is about as surprising as Eichel skating at the Bs practice facility with Bs players.

If the Rangers never came close to really trading for Eichel because they felt that they had to offer way more than a Western Conference team, I am sure that the Bruins are in the same boat.

[Eastern Conference Preview | Podcasts - Sportsnet.ca EF and Marek talk about it in this episode of the pod with regards to the Rangers being out after the Zibs extension]

There is no package that the Bruins are likely to offer up that lands Eichel.

Carlo - Swayman - Lysell/Studnicka - Debrusk (cap) - 22 1st - 23 1st conditional for Eichel and player with salary retained to fill in the Bruins roster?

I doubt Boston, or any team looking to compete in 21-22, is giving up 3 NHL roster players in an Eichel trade. Especially since Adams is reportedly fixated much more on prospects and picks.

Romuor is Rask is willing to sign cheap when cleared medically so Swayman might become available. Carlo and Debrusk are needed to fit Eichel in the cap. Eichel fills the Debrusk departure and possibly Miller or Pysyk retained would cover Carlo (albeit a downgrade). Hertl probably makes more sense for Boston (cheaper). Just pointing out that the Bruins have the resources to make it happen

I just don't see the Bruins wanting to give up that many NHLers and I don't think that package is likely to be head and shoulders above a WC team's best offer.

Also, there have been no rumors of the Bruins being in on Eichel. So, I doubt there is a realistic chance that it happens regardless of what Eichel wants.

Great interview with GM Adams this morning on WGR 550 discussing Adams. If someone can post them, that would be great.

Adams - We have to get the right value that will help move our franchise in the right direction. If we don't get that value, then why would we make a move?

I don't see Buffalo and Boston being good trade partners. I also don't see Buffalo trading him exactly where he wants to go so there's that.

The Sabres would be petty, and stupid, to not trade him for such a reason. Having said that, I don't see that the B's have enough to offer to entice BUF. Lysell is nice, but not someone who can be a centerpiece of a trade. Carlo can not be traded if they expect to compete. DeBrusk, Studnicka? Pfft. Even 2022 and 2023 1sts, while nice are not thrilling, as it would be unlikely that Boston would be a lottery team with Eichel on board.

Not good trade partners.

Adams: We have clarity now. It's clear to me I am backed into a corner and Jack will soon go to one of the teams he prefers who will let him get ADR
