Wouldn't mind seeing him next year on a prove-it contract since we've been kept in the shadow about the extent of his injuries. A season where Andersen is in more of a 1B role to Campbell would provide a lot of value as opposed to rolling the dice with UFA or going with our internally-developed options that, as this season showed, we weren't confident enough to play ahead of our 4th stringer.

Sorry, I wouldn't even have him back at 1M as Jack's backup. I trust Dubas to find another athletic goalie in the 2-3M range to pair with Jack. That would be ideal.

Did anyone notice his stance in the shootout? He's out cutting down the angle but it looks like he's completely upright. Then boom he makes a save. Seemed to throw off the Jets in that shootout.

Love it.

Innovation?

Jack Campbell | #36

G | 6' 2" | 197 lb | Age: 29
Toronto Maple Leafs

He's been a great addition to the team since being acquired from LA. He has had his own issues dealing with adversity and has arrived in Toronto a new man that is confident in his abilities, loves all of his teammates, and just has fun.

Welcome to Toronto, Jack! Hope you're here for a very long time :)

How can Dubas go looking for a goalie? Campbell deserves this team's #1 for the rest of the season. The squad loves him and im convinced they try a little harder for Campbell. 0.951 save percentage. 8-0 record. 2 shutouts. It would have been 3 shutouts if Reilly didnt make a massive error pinching. Campbell was excellent tonight. I feel its a major mistake to get a #1 goalie right now or even give Freddie a chance to take Campbell's job for this year.

So what happens to Campbell when Anderson is ready to go? The Leafs should know that Campbell is their man.

Honestly I thought Campbell would be better than sparks and hutch. But better than Anderson too? Yikes right on

When can we start flooding the main boards with Campbell for Vezina posts?

Edit 1: To answer my own question, roughly 10 days before we start the Campbell for Hart posts.

Edit 2: and roughly 60-70 days before we start the Campbell for Conn Smythe posts.

Edit 3: roughly 3,650 to 4,000 days before we start the Campbell for first ballot Hall of Fame posts.

What else is new? Rielly is quickly becoming an GAA killer for our goalies. And yet some insist he's a Norris trophy candidate or should be added to our Olympic squad. Watch the games people, he's a good defenceman, with vastly overrated offensive skill, prone to making ill-advised pinches that too often lead to goals. Thank goodness we now have a goalie who will actually bail out some of his boneheaded pinches.

Agree that it's Campbell's job now and that Fred is done. No goalie controversy here, in my opinion.

I still think Dubas should look to acquire a goalie though, just because of the questions around Campbell's durability and my fear of having to turn to Fred or Hutch in that scenario.

He's looking like the best goalie since we've had since Belfour. The team style is different but we have similarities where are offense can be awesome and we might need our goalie to make huge saves because our D can let some really high danger chances into the game.
