Are you looking at save percentage?

Reimer's worst team save percentage is with Carolina.

Mrazek had better save percentage in Detroit.

Mrazek’s save % the last time we had normal divisions was lower than Reimer’s worst in Carolina.

Carolina is arguably the best D team in the league. I imagine they could put a Zamboni driver in net and he’d look good against the Leafs too, maybe they should sign him.

If you're basing your opinion on save percentage - its a plain fact that carolina has overall made their goalies' save percentages worse, not better.

Dubas' best move as Leaf GM was acquiring this kid. He loves Toronto but if you let him go to free agency you risk somebody swooping in and paying him more that the Leafs are willing to pay him. Kind of reminds me of Ricky Ray's last season as a Blue Jay.

IIRC it was marner who refused to sign the summer before he wanted to bet on himself and then proceed to take every penny he could. Their are hockey players who look at the team salary cap structure and want to leave money their to get able to build a great team around them. And their are hockey players who want as much salary as they possibly can get. Marner to me is if the latter. And if I’m being honest I can’t say which side of that fence I would be in if I was in that position. So I don’t blame those that want to make as much as they possibly can. I just expect them to live up to that contract and be prepared with their big boy pants on to take the Criticism that goes with it. Now jack appears to be more the type that puts team first. But no one will know till he signs. I’m hoping he signs with the leafs. But I wouldn’t blame him for getting as much as he possibly could. That is why I tried to propose a combination of both with a 8x4.5 to equal out his 36. With a wink wink side deal if possible retirement after 5 and moving in to goalie coach in the minors. ( we all know teams would NEVER EVER do that lol)
You don't. This isn't the thread though to re-hash it for the 1000th time.

Dubas signed Mrzak to a multi year deal because he knows he cant afford Campbell.

Campbell will sign with Edmonton in the off season to a multi year deal @ 6mil + per year ...

Overuse, injuries, familiarity, they all contributed to Anderson being viewed less than he was. Which, for the record, was a fine goaltender for the majority of his time here.

But, things change.

I'm glad he's doing well in Carolina, I think he was a solid player for our team and I don't dump on those players who helped us.

I'm happy we've got Jack, I like him more if only because of his personality, and I hope the hot streak isn't that, but is who he is as a goalie.

You have to be otherworld smart psych guy to figure out goalies. Confidence: without it you ain't got a chance.

It only makes what he did here the past couple years look worse.

And i'm sure i'm not the only one who doesn't miss him one bit.

I think he’s contradicting your point of Carolina making goalies save percentage worse, not better… while Andersen is having a career year.

Need to lock this man up quick. Dubas will be all but gone if he fails to sign JC and moves forward with Raz - like one poster above suggested.

career year? he's played 22 games.

he had multiple better 22-gm stretches in a leafs jersey.

also, since his scorching hot start (7gms, .956), he's come back down to earth (15gms, .915).

But anyways, we have much more than just 22gms of Andersen to tell us that on average goalies' save percentages are worse in Carolina, not better.

Who are you talking about? Dubas never signed Campbell to any contract. He’s on his LA Kings contract still.

ah, that's right, we traded for him before his extension kicked in, but that extension was signed by LA. my bad.

there will undoubtingly be a more compressed end to the season with all of the stoppages that have occurred for the Leafs.

Mrazek will have a very prominent role down the stretch.

It's abundantly clear to me at least that we can trust Jack going forward to be our true #1, and I really do believe they will find a way to make a deal happen that works for both player and team. Similar to Mo. I cannot see him getting much more that 5AAV even if he continues down this path. Taking nothing away from Jack because he truly has been our MVP, but we cannot forget the fact that he is playing in behind an outstanding team top to bottom. Look at Chris Dreidger with Seattle. Not exactly the same tendy that he was in FLA. I think there will be some hesitation from other teams in giving Jack big money. He's still only been a proven starter for 1.5 years by the end of this year.

I have 100% confidence in Jack going forward, I just don't know if that will be the case for the remaining 31 teams.

Not to mention, Jack has been extremely open and honest about his battles early on in his career. For the first time in his NHL career he is in a spot where he feels comfortable. I am really not sure Jack would want to risk that over more money. What price do you put on your mental well being? Like Mo, it appears very clear to me that Toronto is where Jack wants to be.

I've been wrong before with Hyman, but I just don't see any way a deal won't get done.

Mirtle reported that hyman wanted to stay and that the leafs had really stopped conversations with him. They basically decided that they could fill his role for less.

He mentioned way back a month before FA that he was surprised they didn’t follow up with him. And had other targets. I was hoping it was landy. But it looks like it was bunting/kase/Ritchie.

it was the first cold blooded
Move we saw from dubas. Hyman was his first move as a leaf IIRC
