I focused on Brad Marsh while being a kid. Not because of talent or any sane reason but because he played on a team my dad watched and he was so tough he didn’t need to wear a helmet. I was a really dumb kid. Lol.

This visual is ground zero for my interest in the sport and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Just visual awesomeness.

5 Final appearances for M A Fleury and 3 Cups

Dump Mrazek and pick him up. Maybe Campbell does well enough to platoon again.

They moved on from Ritchie in a hurry, time do the same with Mrazek. Pay Campbell like a backup next year.

Ritchie was passed over by guys in our organization. That is much different than Mrazek's situation.

The Leafs are not giving up on Mrazek after 10 games with his track record with nobody to replace him internally.

Campbell situation reminds me of deal or no deal.... at the beginning of the season he opened many of the lowest suitcases and had the million dollar one and all the other highest cases left. Recently he has opened most of the top suitcases, has a couple mid-suitcases left, a couple of the bottom ones - including the lowest one.

I like Soup, so I hope he recovers and this is just a blip... maybe the pressure of a contract is destroying his concentration.

Andersen is just a way better and more durable goalie than Campbell... but you guys couldnt wait to throw Freddy away (always whining, blaming the goalie)... just like the dumb ducks fans you need to understand that the way your team plays defense makes it hard to be consistent... Just look at Freddy now behind a solid structured team in Carolina... pretty much a top5 goalie gunning for Vezina. You reap what you sow, and you guys deserve to have this pain right now.

Andersen played behind a structured team last year and crapped the bed about as hard as Campbell is right now. In fact, he played better behind unstructured Babcock teams more than high end defensive Keefe teams.

And unlike Campbell, who is having a bad couple of months, Andersen was really bad for all of last year AND half of the year before. He made his own bed and was thoroughly outplayed by Campbell with the same defense in front of him.

As for durability, Andersen could hardly stay healthy the past two years. He had a nagging groin injury which severely impacted his effectiveness. Campbell has been healthy; he is just not sharp.

f*** Freddy. He gave up on this team last year and I don't care what anybody has to say about it. He has nothing to do with our goalie issues this year. You can take a hike too.

I would LOVE to play Andersen in the playoffs. Probably the most comfortable first round matchup we could have, despite the team in front of him. That guy chokes so hard in the playoffs he should get a gold medal for it.

LOL the soft leaf team gave up on him long before that... so many times freddys been run into and people taking liberties without any repercussions from the leaf players. The maple leaf team is just soft at its core, ask any player in the league, they will tell you the same. Nobody is leading them either. Most goalies will hate to play there. Especially combined with a fanbase who will turn on you soooo fast.

Lets see.. I bet he will do just fine in Carolina. Leafs on the other hand.. will probably choke no matter whos in the net

You just said it yeah... freddy was dealing with injuries for most of the last season.... and Campbell has never had that kind of workload before... completely untested. But he was praised as a god for his hot streak. Now a lot of you guys want him gone. Same Soup warmed again with the leaf fans. Bunch of turncoats.

Anderson was not durable, skate past him too fast the wind would put him on the IR for days

Are you serious? ??
Carolina played very well against pens last game, Freddie played very solid. They will stomp our D.

Bullshit. You don’t know what you’re watching.

Funny thread on the main boards about this. I’m not going to bump it for the “I told ya so” but there was all kinds of goofy stuff like Mrazek being better, Hutchinson being better, Anderson being done as an NHL goalie etc.

This is the danger when you look at stats rather than what’s happening and why.

Love this one as well. I plan on doing a drawing of this with a close up of his iconic mask in the background at some point

Even if Flower is a step behind his prime years, he has so much playoff experience that the mental stress from it is probably the same as him playing an exhibition game. That's something we've never had in the Shanahan era, so I'm on board. I'm convinced Fred was shitting bricks in the elimination games and I don't need to elaborate on Campbell. As long as we put up respectable defence MAF will put up nice numbers to look at.

Campbell is living off his personality at this point. But if people like Campbell for being a good guy just wait until you see Fleury. Guys jokes

the biggest knock on Fleury over his career is that he folds under pressure in the playoffs

Even if I exaggerated, he still has experience going 20+ games three times and 16 games once. The 16 was a season ago too so he still has stamina left. Any goalie who can get 4 wins in a row against the Avs in the playoffs last season is welcome here. That team is on par with what we're facing this year.

I can't justify going with Campbell over Fleury if Fleury becomes available to us. If MAF folds at least we might have a few round wins before having to worry about him crumbling, but that crumble has less odds than Campbell folding.

I love Flower but he has a long and spotty playoff history. Part of the reason why he isn’t a Golden Knight anymore. That said I think he would be a great addition to the team. Especially if we make his money work from Muzzin’s LTIR and can re-sign him for a couple of years. He’s been having some better starts for Chicago lately and deserves to go to the playoffs again.
