Lol!Have we had a better regular season through the last 50 years than we have so far this year?

I do like to dream.yeah i know it took me even longer to realize the truth. Your day will come my man.
I would make that offer but no more at this point. Campbell has been great but he has struggled since Mrasek has come back. Is he one of those goalies that is the perfect back up bit struggles in a tandem? Campbell is guy I love and want nothing more then him to be our number one but I still question whether he is a true number one. I have seen flashes of him handling it but have watched him at some points and he has struggled even while winning.I'd think today the Leafs would be offering 3x 3.8, The same as Mrazek.
If he was letting in difficult shots like some are, I wouldn't be concerned but some have been like, How could that go in?I would make that offer but no more at this point. I love me some Soup but when exactly did he prove he was a #1? He’s yet to play anywhere near a #1 workload and the one time he’s come close, this year, he’s sputtered a bit.
Right now, at this very moment, Ullmark is a perfect comparable. Their numbers are very similar.
If Soup continues at, around .915-.920 sv% then he gets his $5 mil….if not, who knows what the Leafs end up doing? But assuming a goalie that’s never played more than 30 games in a season is now magically a #1 and deserves $6 mil a season is when teams get in trouble.
show me you can bust out of this slump, show me you can do it in the playoffs, take your money….OR sign a 4x$4.25 mil deal now and everyone’s happy.
Nice work! Plenty of options...of varying quality.
A month ago Campbell was front runner of vezina and right now hes an unproven goalie...The reality, its a sequence of 3 game where leafs was awful defensivly.
Against colorado great start a took a 3 goal.lead but stop playing at this moment. Campbell was the only leafs still fighting.
Against vegas, same thing 2 goal lead and stop playing
Against stl just completly awfull
During thats stretche where leafs leave alone campbell defensivly, he lost his confidence and since... hes struggle and leafs still not playing really well defensivly with player like rielly or nylander cheating for offensive all f***ing game long.
Leafs have to come back to a defence first mentality. When you just thinking about offensive youre not better offenfivly, you are just worst defensivly... leafs need to help campbell to find his game back but fo me Campbell is the best leaf goalie since ed belfour.
I have a feeling he will not be with the Leafs next season.
Let him go, he is not a starter anyway. Mikheyev will be going to the Oilers next season too.Oilers need a goalie and enjoy overpaying Leafs players.
Mrazek has a long, solid track record in the league. I would argue he is an ideal 1B, and gives the team the insurance policy it needs when Campbell goes into a funk, as we have seen in the past. Mrazek seems past his injury troubles, so should be able to get some games in and reinforce his value.
I think it's the other way around when it comes to level of responsibility. Leafs could always commit more strongly to 60 minute play and defensive commitment in general as "championship habits." No disagreement there. But they don't necessarily need to commit to a defense first mentality because they aren't built as a defensive specialist team.
Essentially, Campbell has to find a way to provide "Chris Osgood" level goaltending behind a strong team. That is steady as she goes, reliable, dependable and predictable. The Vezina level goaltending is obviously well appreciated, but it's more that he does his job adequately than making it about Jack vs the Leafs letting him down, blow by blow replay on how there were breakdowns.
Yep, varying quality and price points and time frames. There was life before Campbell, and options after Campbell if things don't work out.
I can't see him not being re-signed this offseason. We're not that type of franchise. We're loyal to a fault. Also, the team really loves him. It's too much of a lockerroom disruption threat.
That said, I think they're going to look for a 1B. Who is a 1B that is available in the summer? Korpisalo?
Also, say I'm wrong about Campbell, who is a starter avaible in the offseason? (who is better than Campbell)
Yeah but when has Keefe given Mrazek a chance to get into a groove? This guys year has been a disaster so far, you can't just play him here and there and expect him to get into form.Campbell has been .890% since December 1st, Mrazek is back to under .900% on the season. Leafs can't score 5+ goals every game to make up for garbage goaltending.
We have a very bipolar fan base. It's part of the reason why some players leave or their careers fall off.I am kind of ashamed of all the people who were saying Campbell is a God before 20 games and are now saying he should be traded for a bag of pucks. This is just cringe-worthy. Shame on you!
It is very scary - you might be hated by a whole city the next day after a game. And in Florida you go to the beach and people dont even know you, lol!We have a very bipolar fan base. It's part of the reason why some players leave or their careers fall off.
