I get that but other teams are going to look at more than just this season. And other teams would prefer younger player who have shown more consistency.
thats fine, my post was to counter the notion that 1st+Sandin+Kerfoot is some crap offer

The Leafs would definitely value Sandin significantly more than their own 1st round pick. He's already taking regular 2nd pair assignments at 21 now with a good prospect pedigree. Robertson's value is more up in the air because of injuries, let's conservatively call it a 2nd. That is still two 1sts and a 2nd to upgrade Kerfoot to Miller for 1.5 seasons. That is an insane overpayment from the Leafs POV. Kerfoot is on a 60 point pace this year btw. Oh and now they need a defenseman because they traded their best young one while Muzzin is falling apart. Horrible asset management, never happening.

Sure, they do. Though some teams will offer more, and obviously, Vancouver wants to maximize the return on him.
They're not going to surrender the pieces that Vancouver would want for him, Like Robertson or Sandin. Toronto's prospect pool isn't all that great at least not compared to the Rangers and other teams that would be going after him.

They might but I don't think the most Leaf fans would want to give up Sandin. Some other teams fan may want to pay more. It all actually depends on what the GMs are willing to give up.

good offer I'd accept it as a Canucks fan if we couldnt get one that meets our needs better. I'd look to flip Rathbone then for a RHD prospect.

From a Vancouver perspective, I don't see this really being good for us. None of the players/prospects fit out direction except Robertson if he's able to bound back from an injury riddled season.

With that said, I do think far too many people are shitting on the Leafs here. Sandin is a pretty solid top four defenseman; Kerfoot is having a fantastic season and is a reliable top nine center and Robertson's OHL and AHL numbers are stellar. He isn't a top tier prospect but he's definitely a tier below at worst. None of them are a fit for Vancouver nor do I see it benefiting Toronto to trade Sandin when they're really lacking on the backend. But in a vacuum, we could do a lot worse.

Canucks already have Quin Hughes & Jack Rathbone as small-ish LHD/OEL signed long-term. Also, Aidan Mcdonough & Danila Klimovich are big wingers that may have a shot at the team soon, don't see them being interested in Nick Robertson as the team has small-ish wingers in Nils Hoglander and Conor Garland.

Needs are a defensive RHD that can be paired with Hughes long-term.

*Edit: Alex Kerfoot isn't wanted either with Jason Dickinson in the top-9, and the team wanting to shed salary. The offer doesn't address any of the Canucks needs.

Agreed. That’s way too much to pay.
That would mean the leafs are going all in, and why would they do that with the team they have? They don’t have a sniff at the 2nd round, let alone a cup.
They should keep their picks and young players and get ready for the inevitable explosion.

I've bought too many drugs online from your location to get upset about this post.

Here's what the problem is with this trade. If I put up a snowblower in Craigslist and say I want $1000. Someone then comes to me and says " I'll give you $1200 worth of beans".

Like obviously the value is there, and is in fact very good, but we just don't need beans right now. Some teams do though, some teams are putting together a bunch of chili, but we just need cash right now thanks.
