Provorov is a good top pairing defenseman on a reasonable contract. He can score goals off the rush and play shut down d.
The problem being the flyers have another very good defenseman in sanheim and York who seems a more natural ppqb who are both lhd.
So the flyers would be open to moving him for a potential 1c or young 2c with room to grow.
Vilardi played 2C last year..huh huh

I would add to that .

Barrie for cap reason
1st this year or next Flyers choice
Holloway
Broberg
Samorukov
Interesting. I do see Edm as good partner.

Barrie ok
1st 22 ok
counter on prospects: Savoie (for Brink connection), Lavoie and Broberg.

Unless the Flyers were going into a full rebuild I don't think they would want "wasted" cap hit back in the deal. They would need to clear up cap space to reallocate elsewhere.

As mentioned by a couple offers here, imagine signing Risto just so you can't afford Sanheim and Provorov? Imagine that on top of trading Ghost to fit Risto in the first place?

After hearing this morning’s meeting with the press, i am more than willing to field offers for him.
Either clean 1-1 hockey trade for a C or RD same age, salary
or rebuilding offer 3-1: combo of 1st or 2nd rounder, young roster player any position and good prospect (not going into A, B- stuff. Good prospect with NHL expectations).

Not interested in other team cap issues so not taking back Lehtera type.

Final decision to be made at the draft.

Provorov is a good Dman but he's in over his head as a #1. Put him where he belongs as a 2/3D and I think you'd be happy.

He gets paid the same to play well properly slotted than sucking at being a #1D.
He is not unhappy with his contract.
Body language shows he is unhappy, yesterday’s meeting showed same.

Player in his prime losing minutes and special teams duties is bound to be unhappy. He has been number 1 for too long.

Not disagreeing at all with fact IP doesnt deserve lifetime role as 1d.

I say he is traded at draft.

So he is unhappy being a poor 1D on a bad team and you think he would be even more unhappy being a good 2/3D on a good team? No sense trying to make this guy happy, it just can't be done.

I’m pretty sure he feels he is a 1d on most teams.
some players take losing better than others and all players know the game better than we do so he must be fed up with Fletcher’s moves like all of us.
He would be happier on a winning team. For a few seasons it means elsewhere.

Provorov has an over-inflated version of himself in his head. He thinks hes a 1D by default, and would walk on to any team in such a manner.

The reality is, as you said, he's a #2 at best. He just doesnt see it that way.

I'm just curious where you've heard that, I don't doubt it. What has Provorov said to give that idea?

Last year, I think hebgave himself an A- or something, despite last year being his worst season with the team (until this year).

theres also a quote a few weeks back from somewhere thst I can't find about the Flyers management's concern over his mental state if they were to remove him from PP1 despite being awful there. I couldn't find it with a quick search but I'm sure if you cared enough, you could find it as well.

This isn't a baseless, angry fan accusation. The guy just can't take criticism at all.

LA should be all over it if Provorov is available. Its a shame we don't have the flyers west connection going on so much now though, to help get it done.

Who moves the needle from LA? (Byfield and Clarke are no goes though)

Kalyev, Spence, Pinelli, 1st 2022, Helenius, Vilardi. Mix and match.

Vilardi + Walker + 1st?

Provorov - Doughty
Anderson - Clarke
Spence - Durzi
Spooky, that is the exact proposal that i was thinking.

Whether its what Philly would accept, who knows, it probably depends how they see Villardi.

I don’t know much at all about the Kings’ prospects, but the fit is very good. Provorov had issues the last two years, but it’s pretty obvious he decided to play more offensive since the trade deadline. He is around 3rd all time in Flyers history for goals. He has never played with a top pair guy like he could in LA. It would be synergistic.

My wants are are too young 2C and a 2023 1st without protection.

Seems like LA fan already putting the bum on first pairing… Keep playing drums.
