Which team had better of play and anyone stood out from Fin/rus in first?

Finland was a bit better but tried to be too fancy on the offensive end, not enough shooting.

Räsänen and Tolvanen seemed to have some nice chemistry. Tuulola, Somppi and Koppanen also played well.

Niemeläinen and Välimäki were extremely solid on the defensive end. Isokangas was good on goal, no rebounds on the any of the shots.

Russia had 3on1 attack but nothing special other than that. Popugayev was probably the most noticable.

Referees are whistle-happy in the Finland-Russia game. Stream of players going to the penalty box.

Somppi is way too aggressive on the forecheck. 2nd offensive zone penalty for him already.

Really nice passing play by Kuokkanen and Oksanen makes it 2-0.

Finally a PP goal for Finland. Räsänen protects the puck really well and setups Tuulola in front the net 3-0.

These refs are awful. 2 minute 5vs3? Really?

lol Russia with too many players on 5vs3.. that didn't last long.

Canada vs Switzerland 4:0 in 17. minute.
Well, that escalated quickly.

EDIT: Just after this post Switzerland scores, 4:1

Canada is destroying Switzerland. 8:2 in 3rd period..

EDIT: 9:2...poor Switzerland.

Just like I knew they would...

So far Finland has been the best team at Hlinka and a Canada v Finland final would be entertaining...if that's how things unfold.

How do you think Finland has been better than Canada? By the numbers it seems to me that Finland is second only to Canada. Is it how they've looked? Or do you think there has been difference in the relative level of competition between the groups?
