Player Discussion Ivan Demidov: Welcome to Montreal

View attachment 1032981

This was Crosby's team in his rookie year. This team finished last in their division and got the 2nd OA pick (Jordan Stasl). Very reminiscent of Chicago last season who finished last in their division and got the 2OA pick (Levshunov).

Im not here saying Bedard is rrash but he's definitely not generational. I was on here saying so back in 2023 calling him this next generations Patty Kane. Crosby had such a shitty team and still showed out his rookie year. Bedard just isn't that guy.
Nature vs nurture… maybe he would’ve been generational and now won’t be. Or maybe it will take him a while to get there

He’s in a terrible situation over there.

I would move him to the wing. Draft a skilled forward to play with him. And he needs to get his shot off quicker.

It would be pretty big if they could get him to spend the off-season in Montreal. He could start working with the staff early and get a head start on getting to know his new environment/teammates. It would really help his rookie season tremendously IMO.
This is the plan for Ivan to spend as much time with the team to be on set with the team's system. So now he has earned a break, and after that will spend the summer working with Suzuki!

Am I on the Bedard thread? Common guys, stay on topic please. It's getting confusing to follow up on your text!

Imo Demidov will do whatever Montreal asks of him, even if it means training in Montreal all summer.

He did the same on SKA; always did what the coaches asked and never complained. He just worked.

He's a team player.

Fun facts: Demidov (4 points in 7 games) has more points than Leonard (2 points in 16 games) this season

He is a better rookie and have much higher upside. Leonard is a great player, but he don't have the potential of a superstar type of forward, Demidov got that. He played in playoffs and he already make good progression each game, this guy is on a another level haha.

It's literally Kaprizov 2.0.

The debate is between Leonard and Reinbacher, the player Hughes preferred to Leonard.

I never understand why people are going crazy for Leonard. He will be a good 50-60 points top 6 player. He does not have any elite potential. I keep seeing his name in every single Reinbacher thread. What do people like about his game?

Demidov is way above him. Is a shame we did not play game 7 against the Caps or Carolina in the second round. I feel like Demidov has improving in a rapid pace and could have produce more in the second round (if we beat Caps).

Hawks offered their 2025 unprotected 1st for CBJ’s 4th overall in 2024. I think they also offered the habs the same deal if I’m not mistaken. Their goal was apparently to walk away with both Levshunov and Demidov.
I could be wrong. But I feel like Chicago offered their 2025 unprotected + 2024 18th first round pick. I don't see why I team drafting in the top 5 would take another team first round pick next year. They needed to add extra. Especially with 2025 having no generational talent.

Chicago will probably have a better chance of getting Utah 2025 4th pick for Chicago 2026 unprotected first round pick.

"The support’s been crazy. Fans are still texting me and following me on Instagram. Before the draft, I had 2,500 thousand followers. Now, I have 25,000. It’s crazy."

"Real Madrid. From childhood, when I started to watch football— soccer [laughs], I loved to watch Cristiano Ronaldo. That’s why my favorite team is Real Madrid."

100pts or bust.

I'm very confident that he will put that soon. Next year, we should expect 60-70 pts. But, this guy have literally skillset of a 100 pts type of player.

We need to be all excited to have Demidov in this team. He should easily go in #2 in 2024 re-draft and maybe #1 in few years haha. Even if Celebrini looks the real deal aswell. Demidov is very very close to him!!

Crosby had Palffy for half the season, but anyway the reason he could make an impact right away beside his talent is that he was already strong physically, especially his legs. We forget how explosive Sid used to be. He could do a lot on his own.

A better comparable for Bedard would be from his own turf in Chicago, Patrick Kane. He produced immediately but he was on a much better team.

I know. I've literally been making that comparison for Bedards for years on this board.
