Prospect Info: Ivan Demidov (2024 5th OA): SKA St. Petersburg (KHL): Part II

The politics in that league. Wow! Limiting the overtime of your best player because he’s not resigning? Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!
I can’t wait to hear his opinion on Rory once he leaves.
Vanya is a respectful young man and I can almost guarantee he will have nothing but good things to say about his bonehead coach

Russia's going to Russia. I'm even surprised he got as much ice time as he did after Kent went down, I would have thought they would have taken that as a slight or a threat in some way.

Just two more months, Ivan. Hold on lad.

Is it possible that all of this is a negotiating tactic to extort some cash from Molson?
It very well could be. They know they're losing him for nothing in a few months, so I wouldn't be shocked if they're trying to get some sort of financial gain out of it. I don't think Molson or Hughes would bite though.

He's got more bite than anyone else on his team, too. Rotenberg just sings whatever tune that comes into his mind.
Well yeah, he doesn't even have to make sense.

Remember when he was talking about benching Demidov cause bad +/- = bad player... yet Demidov was one of the +/- leaders on the team, bahaha.

I can’t believe there is no way to bring him sooner.
There probably is but just because the likes of Friedman doesn’t know about it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

CKA did accept money in exchange of terminating a non-expired contract with Michkov, so chances are they would take compensation for Demidov terminating his contract much sooner than May 31st. Two different situations between Michkov and Demidov but same org that has proven that it can be bought out.

Maybe this is all part of Rotenburg’s scripted theatrics mandated by CKA’s ownership — have him act like a madman so there is a greater likelihood that the NHL team that owns his rights, gets jittery and produces a substantial amount to make the circus go away.

Please stay tuned to my next podcast, 32 Farts, where you’ll find even more unsubstantiated, speculative material.

Whey did KH and the other 2 go to see him, I bet not him. it was to try get him out

I say F that coach and F that team. At least there's no risk for injury and all that will be behind him next year.

He's one of the most idiotic individuals I've ever been exposed to. Russian Therrien
Nah. It's pride and greed.

Edit : willing to toy with and intimidate a 19 yo because of a f***ing sport is downright evil.
