Guy is making like $58M per year between this and his Washington deferrals.
How old is Josh, anyway?Phelps is back. Minor league deal w invite
IMO it is to divide.
Eg - "if you don't support xxx cause, then you must be a yyy".
The end result is always division - every single time, and that is exactly what these causes were meant to do - create an "us vs them" (division) situation. Every time. It's everywhere sadly.
All movements are created to attract and utilize the innate "superiority complex" that humans have (or get from joining), causing those within these movements to look down on those who aren't.
But back to ball. The Mets appear to be trying to be the first $500 million team to finish in the basement.
On potential additional offseason moves:
"Every reason to believe the Jays have more resource to go out there and keep spending."Robbie Ray's Market:
"My eye goes to position players on next steps, they're still in touch with some of the top position players, as recently as this weekend, these talks remain active, with Corey Seager out there, and expected to potentially sign today that's a name to watch, that's a guy who could help out the Jays. If he's getting 300 million, the Jays probably aren't getting him. Other ways for the Jays to spend on an infielder or good position player."
"6 years could be a possibility for Robbie Ray, higher than 22, is it 5/155 or higher?"On Jays next potential transactions
"There's no way this cuts them off from meaningful additions to the infielder, another starting pitcher, not going to go all in on 1 player at the expense of the rest of the roster."
"I am very certain in they expect to add and plan to add a infielder and more starting pitcher and bullpen help."On Semien replacements:
"You can look at potentially Jose Ramirez, a Matt Chapman, known to be out there, my sense for the next couple of days is it's going to be free agent heavy."
"Jays need to get a read on Baez, and I believe they've done just that, same with Seager, what those guys are seeking, if those guys are a fit. Story, I don't see the Jays as likely."
Honestly if MLB could somehow bottle this frenzy of signings into a regular off season without, you know the whole lockout thing going forward it would be amazing. Because the last few days have been awesome. I have no idea how you would make that work with the way Baseball usually operates though.
I agree. Thats what makes nba,nfl and nhl offseasons so much better. Same goes for the draftHonestly if MLB could somehow bottle this frenzy of signings into a regular off season without, you know the whole lockout thing going forward it would be amazing. In soccer they have 2 windows for all the transfers.
It was obvious Semien wasn't returning, not Ray. There's still a chance Ray returns. And if he does then my god is that rotation ridiculously good.
I bet this guy will come in cheaper and preform better than Yumi :/
Brooks Raley has had pretty bad results thus far, but it's the Rays, so he will suddenly be an elite Pen arm
Zero reason to bring Yumi into it though. That's weird. Yumi has a ton of upside.
Projections are projections. Let's see the guys pitch before just assuming one will be garbage while the other is a ray.
