lol, you know the amount of blockbuster trades involving the jays where we have ever given up a "high value young player" that ever amounted to anything even close to stardom in the majors? i can count them all on one hand, namely jeff kent, thor, michael young..struggling to think of any othersCan we please stop trading high value young players for short term rentals?

unless its a vladdy level prospect im taking the established all star level player everyday of the week..remember when franklin barreto was the SS of the future? well ill take 3 and 1/2 years of JD thanks lol.
also, jays tend to trade for players that have some cost control and term typically.
unless its moreno, im open to trading any of our prospects for the right players.
ye, even the worst trades were never THAT bad. thor has been injured so much and without cone we might not have won our 1st ever chip. And the list is probably just exclusive to Kent and David Price as they were rentals by definition.
Michael Young was traded for 2.5 years of Loiaza.
And not that I’m defending the trade, but Thor+ was traded for 4 years of Dickey as he was signed to an extension prior to the trade taking place.
So there are not many of these in recent Jays history.
thats mental, i would prefer to trade at this point.6 years and ~140 million for Gausman?????

gurriel is 28, pearson is 25, jansen is almost 27. they arent that much younger than who we would be targeting. the only young one of who you mentioned is kirk and we have moreno plowing his way through the system. i dont see a problem. if you have to trade them for someone like j ramirez who is a top 3 3rd baseman and top 25 player in the game you do it and dont look back. You clearly missed the context of my reply to the previous poster. I didn't say prospects. I said high value young players. Kirk, Gurriel, Jansen, Pearson...this is what the previous poster was talking about. NOT prospects.

lol, why would i apologize? i never insulted you. nor was i patronizing or condescending in any way. considering the players you mentioned arent even that young one could assume you were referring to prospects and not players who are in their mid to late 20s.Not gonna apologize for getting all patronizing, are ya?
Have you apologized to the 40 or so posters that you OWE one to first? Not gonna apologize for getting all patronizing, are ya?

Kaffee: That's not what you said. You said he was being transferred, because he was in grave danger.
Jessup: That's correct.
Kaffee: You said he was in danger. I said "grave danger"? You said...
Jessup: I recall what I said.
Kaffee: I could have the court reporter read back to you...
Jessup: I know what I said! I don't have to have it read back to me, like I'm...
better yet we should all apologize clearly.Guys, why are you all questioning someone who's so clearly smarter than all of us? You're better off just taking his word for it because he's always right about everything.

"Some scouts believe Moreno has a chance to be a perennial all-star, a potential plus to plus-plus hitter who could hit 20-25 home runs while chipping in above-average defense at a premium position. He should be ready to contribute in Toronto at some point in 2022"
