Absentee owners

Don't care that local media tried to say they aren't
I think the jury is still out on FSG as hockey owners but absentee owners don’t fire the GM, AGM, and President of hockey ops 24 hours after the season is over and then hold a press conference detailing what they’re going to be looking for in a GM.

Yeah, how courageous of them for firing the worst GM in the NHL, a no name scout and a guy that got paid to appear on Podcasts.

The team didn’t make the damn playoffs. They had to do something. The fan base and local media completely turned on Sleepy, and no one could say what the hell Burke did on a day to day basis besides steal a paycheck.

I like Tulsky as GM and maybe like Doug MacLean as POHO. Kostopoulos or Daley as AGM.

Used to listen to Dougie Mac and Kypreos on Sportsnet.
MacLean had a lot of scary stupid opinions and is stuck in the past. Really don't want him involved.
Don't want Daley, Kostopoulos or any Old Boy's Club alumnis either. No more emotionally driven decisions.

Tulsky has the best qualifications to help our situation though for sure.

Rich people/companies are known to spend frivolously and then are especially known to get immediately bored with their ”new toy” once the initial “oooooh shiny thing” novelty phase wears off….
You DO NOT become a Multi Billionaire by "Frivolously" waste money

I have this entire time since that came out, thought that's what was expected?

Maybe there's something to ownership groups looking to insiders and ex players?

The HF Think Tank we have here wanting to stack the front office full of nerds (of which I am one), while ignoring how much having personal relationships actually matters- it absolutely does. In sales. In business. In life. But let's go purge the data analytics department at Oracle or SAP to tell us how badly we need ZAR because we've all seen Moneyball and that's the way things work.

You want a leader who's got those people behind him. They don't have to be the face or the ones trying to make a deal. Take a clue from idk- every business globally. I've always thought Matt Cullen was one of those bound to be a front office guy. He's someone folks take a call/drink/dinner with who can have any type of conversation. Not that this is a campaign for him but still- nothing wrong with 10 nerds in his cupboard.

D’uh!!

As an already-multi-billion-dollar entity, FSG can afford to take a bath on owning us I’m sure, was my point.

After all, they’ve been doing that so far….
DUH That is not how you become aa Billionaire, Look at Bob Nutting, he makes money weather he wins a 1100 games or loses a 100 games

If Mario is involved in selecting the next GM, Kevin Stevens gets it. At least Artie’s press conferences would be interesting because he can barely form a sentence. Plus, he’s a Boston guy.

Ok so they make money no matter what??

That’s nice. Maybe when it stops being profitable is when they’ll start giving a shit??
Make Up Mind why don't you! MLB gives small market teams money from the Luxury Tax ass SHUSH Money. John Henry is a Rabid Environmentalist & I am sure he has a Fleet of Jest & god know what else the spew pollution in the air

There is a plane flying over at Anfield at half-time trailing a banner: "LFC-SOX-PENGUINS-SAME PROBLEMS FSG OUT".
Ha!

"but they're BILLIONAIRES, they can't mess up!"
