Ha!

"but they're BILLIONAIRES, they can't mess up!"

That’s awesome. Aren’t the Red Sox starting a fire sale already? The premiere front office of FSG’s teams aren’t doing so well.

There is a plane flying over at Anfield at half-time trailing a banner: "LFC-SOX-PENGUINS-SAME PROBLEMS FSG OUT".
Liverpool fans are so spoiled. They had an incredible run of success and one subpar year (that still has them in 5th place in the Premier League) has them whining like Yankees fans.

I don’t really pay attention hardcore to EPL but don’t all EPL fans bitch about their owners? Feel like I’m always seeing fans of teams in that league constantly complaining about either their owner or managers.

It's basically the top five - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United. One of those teams has won the Premier League every year since 1992 except for two occasions. And they almost always earn the league's bids to the UEFA Champions League. So it's an arms race and people get bent out of shape easily.

It is called Common Sense Junior, which sadly is none too common anymore
How do you have any faith in this ownership group? Their one press conference after this past disastrous off season? They can’t even see the coach is 3 years past his shelf life. They continue to miss the most obvious issues with the team but you turn a blind eye because of a damn press conference.

If this ownership had any common sense, they would have fired dumbass Hextall when he was unable to provide them with his master plan in writing. How do you keep an idiot like that?

Madden on am podcast says Darche in Tampa has zero interest in interviewing for Pens job, and Shero is going to be involved with Philly…

“Madden also had some thoughts on the Penguins’ general manager search. It may have hit some bumps before it really started.

For one, Kyle Dubas, the Maple Leaf’s general manager, will likely be retained in Toronto now that the franchise has advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004. Plus, there are some other potential candidates that may be off the list already.

“I hear that (Ray) Shero is going to go to Philadelphia in some capacity. I hear that (Mathieu) Darche, the assistant in Tampa Bay, doesn’t want the job in Pittsburgh and doesn’t even want to discuss it,” Madden said.”

Yeah not really sure I want the guy who was part of the team who unloaded an entire draft class for Tanner freakin Jeannot.

Ah shucks. The team's gonna miss out on more years of Ray Shero--the guy who routinely had the roster full of guys like Taylor Pyatt and Chuck Kobasew--and the guy who paid an entire draft class for Nick Deslauriers Tanner Jeannot.

Flounder is right up there with Gerbil Boy Rossi & DK

The point is that qualified people who’d we want to GM here are not going to be interested in this job…could be why we’re hearing crickets out there about interviews…I mean who wants a job where you’d have to kowtow to Mike Sullivan, who really runs the organization lol

Can't say I'm surprised that there isn't a rush to our door to fill the GM vacancy. It's not an attractive gig.

That could be the case but I also think we won’t hear anything until right before a hire is made because FSG is a little close to the vest with this kind of stuff. I mean, even Lemieux and Burkle were tight lipped. We didn’t even know Rutherford was going to be the GM until right before the introductory PC. Can also imagine FSG has to wait until certain teams are eliminated to interview prospective candidates.

They can take all the time in the world as long as they find the right people. If that means missing out on "qualified people" who are just retreads with pretty glaring issues, so be it. Ain't a big loss.

I think people are being too overly dramatic with this whole bullshit about "oh my god nobody wants the job, it's tainted, nobody's gonna touch it with a 10ft pole" tbh. Being an NHL GM is an extremely well-paying and prestigious job.

I just hope they find the right people. I'm worried they're gonna pick somebody who just throws every available asset at the wall in a vain attempt at keeping up the masquerade of competing. This team's cooked. Guide the plane down gently in a field and prepare for the next chapter.

Let's all just pretend like we don't know what Madden's history is like. He may be right, he may actually have a viable source on this (I doubt it), but it's far more important that he be engaged than be right. He doesn't give a shit about being right as long as whatever he says gets replies and views.

It's possible that candidates are uninterested but that could be for any number of reasons. When Hextall was hired, there were rumors that they looked at Drury who said no thanks and it turns out it was because he knew he was about to get a big promotion with NYR.

This. You guys keep crapping on Darche, but he’s respected as a potential GM. We don’t know his role in the Jeannot trade.

Hopefully, someone from FSG knows when the draft and free agency starts so that we have someone in place.

Sutter's got a lot deeper issues than Sullivan. Apparently some players weren't coming back if he was.
