Does not bother me ! I am am closer to Heaven & being out of this batshit crazy world
That would be a man.I mean cool. We can all do that. That doesn't mean we deserve to be the GM of a f***ing professional hockey team. I can respect that from a human side but it literally has absolutely nothing to do with hockey.
Here is what I guaran-damn-tee. If you are man, woman, or anything and everything in between... IF YOU CAN SCORE AT A MCDAVID CLIP - you will be paid 10+M and you will gladly be accepted on any and every NHL team.
f*** I'd trade Sid right now for that human if they are putting up 150 pts.
Sully wasn't getting fired. I don't know how that's a surprise to some.
He’d be more interesting than hexy
Tons of people would love to be GM of the greatest expansion team in league history. This is the bad part of the scenario.
As KIRK says - who the f*** wants to be the Pens GM? The end of the era and only to get shit on in a rebuild? A GOOD GM who is desirable will want full control and that could mean firing Sully.
Whoever accepts this job is going to be a yes man with almost no power. That is going to be the problem and why you have to take this to the next level.
I have gotten ripped to shreds for posting exactly thatThis is the bad part of the scenario.

Guy is the definition of old boys club, people just give him a pass because he’s outspoken about progressive social causes. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s not had a good idea regarding hockey since the Pens playoff streak started.I knew that Burke was a weirdo the day he made some calls to try to get Don Cherry fired from CBC instead of focusing on his GM job in Toronto (2012) lol
That dude is more concerned about gossip than actual hockey operation work… And you’ve all witnessed it whenever he was interviewed here
Good f***ing riddance.
This is the bad part of the scenario.

Not if the mandate shifts. It’s a really easy job compared to some markets, honestly. There isn’t immense pressure to win, you just need to give the core a chance. And you won’t be fired if the team tanks because the core performance drops off.I said it in another thread, you have to either be a simp or a complete moron to take the GM job here right now.
Yeah I think the Penguins GM job is super unattractive in reality. No flexibility to actually make an imprint on the roster.
Well, they deserve it, those monsters. He was gonna go to Switzerland. The horror.
If they tell you as a GM that you MUST keep Sully.. then you don't have free reign. Then yes - i think it's unattractive.
Get that old guy back on here to comment…I miss him! This is the bad part of the scenario.

So yeah, they don't have free reign.
I'm watching this press conference right now and am just waiting for FSG to flat out say that Sullivan is not going anywhere.
"We think he's awesome! New GM can evaluate staff as they see fit. But MIke Sullivan is freakin great!"
