This front office job for Sullivan....tell me more.....

If FSG love him so much, boot him up there and give him his precious contract extension money where he cant hurt anyone. Sullivan will probably quit out of pride.

The fact that not a single word about the coaching has been said yet tells me he has the right ears bent his way. Ridiculous af.
Its insane how teflon this man is. Look at the constant failure of the PP. Look at the useage. Look at multiple players breaking out as soon as they leave here. These are lineup/on-ice decisions, and that's his f***ing role.

Hextall bears his responsibility. The Jarry/DeSmith schizophrenia tandem tour this season was 100% on his shitty GMing, as were the awful depth moves. But acquiring a dud like Granlund didnt magically make the team unable to execute a simple zone entry, 5-on-4, did it?

Those guys the Penguins used to have were just as unproductive in the bottom-6 as their current guys, though.
Not really. Our bottom six scored a quite bit vs NYI. Predictably... the problem was GCR, Guentzel and Crosby being completely invisible. 2 goals and a combined -8

Well and Jarry having the worst goaltending series ever. The third line showed up though.

Eh I think that's much more "Carter riding a hot streak after being acquired" than the third line showing up

Tyler Kennedy fired the only shot about Sullivan and I wish he elaborated on it more to get more talking. I hate that the full brunt of the blame falls on Hextall. Because now they're assuming all of Sullivan's failures are because of Rutherford and Hextall and that's like 30% true. 70% is on Sully. I was ok seeing Hextall fired only after Sullivan's firing if he has no proper plan but to fire Hextall and the others and Keep Sullivan means they feel he was done dirty vs him doing the roster dirty for 5 seasons. 6 now.

I think the players also love him, the core anyway, because he panders to them and he has their best interests at the cost of wins and what works. It's such an epic failure.

I hope this is just a delayed firing. The first time we can get a full culling and hire the right people in all facets, even in wbs and yet they missed the mark (so far).

what would you call 75% of this board calling for Sullivan to be fired when the Ownership group loves him & go on to rip their favorite player to rip as the reason ??

I f***ing cannot stand Burke and am so happy he's fired. That dude... I never once heard him talk about the Penguins from a perspective. All i ever heard him bitch about is all the NHL bullshit drama. Never once did I hear him talk about the agenda for the Pens and how we were going to be good. lol. I cannot stand that guy. I am so happy he is fired.
I appreciate him standing up for inclusivity and being a voice for many.

I'll give him credit for that.

"I didn't really watch this team but just...really wanted to comment here" would have been less keystrokes man.

There's a lot of extreme concerns in this thread. I get it, I don't know how much faith I have in this process either. I do feel somewhat certain however, that FSG is not going to have Mike bygawd Sullivan sitting in the room when they interview GM candidates. They may consult him. They may even take his opinion into consideration. But Sullivan will not be hiring his own boss.

That's accurate.

This wasn’t purely on ice results, Hextall clearly didn’t know what he was doing. The mandate was always keep Crosby and Malkin together. The core didn’t handicap the Pens at all because they got more value cap wise out of them this year than last or the year before. So you keep the core, simple. His job is just to build around a cheap but old core. So what does he spend this whole last year doing? Filling out the roster with expensive old players, and oddly creating the worlds most soft and gutless team. Sound familiar? From all accounts it seems like ownership wasn’t impressed with him to begin with when they got here.

Sounds like the Chuck Fletcher school of GMing (except the Flyers have guts and that's about it)

No. It just means that you have trouble expressing your thoughts and opinions and resort to personal insults to get your point across.
NO i don't waste my time expressing thoughts to people so far gone that they thought FSG was going to fire their Buddy. Don't have the time, Or the crayons to do so

Sullivan was never in a million years going to get fired after just getting extended. If there's another season like this though, he's in trouble.

That said, if there's another season like this FSG/whoever is next Pens GM might just opt to enter the rebuild and not blame Sully over it sooo...

Yeah. We could be stuck with him for a while.

As I mentioned in the other thread, hopefully he improves over this, and hopefully the next GM can give him a better roster. We're stuck with him, so might as well hope for the best.

It's ok Jethro. We've all lived with our parents. Some of us leave by age 35, but I'm sure you'll end up as a productive member of society eventually. Btw I think your mom mentioned the meatloaf is ready for you
So Junior I am 58 ! wrong is a way of life for you

I wanted Bill to be our gm. The only one I was hesitant on was Botterill and I'd be fine with him now as well. For me Rusty, Bill, and Botts were 3 I hoped for as future GM's. Was never a fan of how quickly Allvin became an assistant and did nothing in that time to fix wbs with coaching and it's been stuck since.

This franchise deserves Chiarelli or Benning. Make a giant Boston Bruins reunion orgy.
Less truculence. More suck and fuculence at the B's orgy.
