Habs just don’t have the pieces that work for the Jets. Jets need top 6 centres and RHD, exactly what Habs don’t have. If the Florida pick was 17th they could maybe put together something more enticing.
Habs can put Beck, Farrell and Harris on the table, with Anderson and Flo pick. It equals LA offer and cheaper. If they want Dvo, take it for free or maybe 50% salary paid.

Which difference maker did they balk on? A career high 63 points player is now a difference maker?
He’s not an elite player but is he a player coveted by every team in the NHL. Would update and upgrade our forward depth significantly.

Ah well. Let’s see what he does.

What the heck? Winnipeg is getting a better deal than 90% of Habs fans and apparently Kent Hughes as well are willing to offer, and Dubois is entitled to talk extension. How does that make him a f*** boy?? Do you REALLY expect him to refuse to talk extension at his age? Does he owe you anything?

You should tell him what I said and I hope it hurts his feelings.

Would be hilarious if Vilardi immediately asks for a trade out of Winnipeg if he ends up there. Though if he can bear it he'll probably jack up his stats with Kyle Connor and earn a fat contract.

We don't have the assets to offer what LA is offering (apparently) WPG.

Not a big deal as I think we need to stay the course. Very curious to see the event number PLD will sign for. I still have PTSD from Drouin and Gallagher (I'm not comparing PLD to those two players just to be clear).

I’m actually pretty fine with not acquiring PLD but it’s definitely frustrating to never be the team acquiring the fun, in-demand player. Why is the price always too high?

We need at least three top6 players! Where are they going to come from?

PLD would be a nice piece to add, but he isn't a top tier talent. He's not worth giving up a similar talent in Dach and potentially 9 mill in cap space.

That said, Habs need another top 6 forward with size still... Better draft some of that talent with size available later on to see if they can develop some of that themselves

It’s tiresome to see all the big names always end up in NY/LA/Vegas as well.

Vilardi: "Winnipeg is not so bad, I don't know what people complain about. As soon as we leave this dumpy area and crappy weather, I'll find a good restaurant downtown"

Agent: "Gabe, we are downtown and it's July".

Wow credible sources we have here . I wouldn't get too excited either way from this source .If one of the TSN ,Sportsnet said it then i would have more faith .I could have said what they said and i don't have a clue where he is going or the players involved. They could be just flinging shit at the wall.Anyways what shall be shall be.One thing i do believe is Hughes is not going to dismantle what he has started here since the rebuild for PLD

Do you seriously think NHL players have to deal with crackheads and high crime while living in gated communities? Of course LA is a premier location for athletes it is in the MLS, the NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA etc...
Of course it is, for millionaires, in great areas like Manhattan Beach. Still a shit city. I used to like it a lot when I went there earlier in the 2010's. It's gone south in many ways.
I thought Dubois would be in a tent on skid row?
Tents are not just in Skid Row anymore. Just sayin'.

Jokes aside, good for him. Onto the draft.

Dubois in LA is a weird fit, city wise. Dubois seems quiet too. Mmmmm… not sure.

Personally, having visited the city for a 4th last month, I wouldn’t play there; I would have in 2016, last time I was there. Man, the hobos erecting tents on the sidewalks everywhere from Hollywood to downtown (except Bev Hills of course) is a sight to be seen. Beaches are full of them too now. People complaining about them in Mtl or Taranna have not been to LA lately. Yarke. Would be out of my list for sure.

They are in south bay Manhattan Beach or Palos Verdes, closer to the practice rink where the rich ppl are

The best spot in Cali is Anaheim/Newport tho

Friedman RT’ed a report about a piece in the deal.

This could fall through Hayes style though.

And yet as I said it remains a premier destination for athletes lol.

Danault is going to have PTSD when PLD is traded to LA and he's bumped to the 3rd line and off the powerplay :sarcasm:
