Tbh we only have a few really promising players, the others are depth ones. We really need top end talent and I'm worried that Gorton and Bobrov don't have the best record.
I'll take depth ones for the 3rd and 4th lines instead of paying the likes of Armia, Gallagher, Hoffman, Dvorak, Anderson, Drouin etc... to play on them. Save money on the depth guys and you have it to spend on the top 6. This team can only prepare for those contracts to expire by stockpiling enough young picks and prospects to fill their shoes, not by adding players who won't be contributing by the time the deadwood is gone, and they will replace them in every wishful trade proposal.

Kings fans don't seem overly thrilled right now.

This has Bergevin written all over it lol. I bet he's been just buzzing in Rob Blake's ear all week long. I expect some serious overpayment in this deal. MB ain't missing out on his little prince for the 3rd time.

3 years ago, the Habs had a chance to get Dubois from Columbus. They asked for Suzuki we refused. Was it a bad decision? I don't think so.

Now, same Dubois but now with Winnipeg, The Jets asked for Dach, we said no. Will it be a bad decision? I don't think so.
Add the draft drama when Jarmo scooped him right from under us and this whole saga has been going on for quite some time. Time to let go.

Well in case it is, can someone remind him to have the LAK pick up the cry-inducing, balding pet that he left behind?

Pretty disappointing outcome if he doesn’t end up here. Can’t say we respect aggressive management (like VGK and COL) but balk at the price to acquire difference makers.

I wouldn’t have parted with Dach though, if he was requested that is.

Anderson on that list? Give me a break.

Just goes to show media people always lazily assume that the Habs want to get all the French-Quebecois players to play for the Habs. Every late 1st Q player is projected to be chosen by the Habs. Every big name French-Quebecois UFA/RFA is rumored to be a Habs target.

Reality always has been always will be Habs fans appreciate good players. Fans loved Kovalev. They loved Markov. They loved Subban, Price and Weber. They love Caufield and Suzuki. If you are a great hockey player and you play for the Habs - the fans will adore you - wherever you're from.

Really wishing this was a 3-way. I often wish for this, not even the first time today.
PLD will be traded from LA to Montreal with the extension attached.

If the rumors of Vilardi being included prove to be true, then Dach was probably the ask by the Jets.

You still have to drive through the streets. Aside from Bev Hills, the rest is dirty. Skid Row has multiplied. LA has a serious hobo problem. Major league serious.
I dunno Manhattan Beach (where Brisson) lives is still mighty fine place…

Which difference maker did they balk on? A career high 63 points player is now a difference maker?

You know you’re in a shithole when you litterally see shit (human kind) on the grass, close to a hobo tent, while walking on a sidewalk going to a market. At least, from the looks of the turds, the hobo(s) had tried to wipe him/themselves. The leafs (not to be confused with the Figs hockey team) just didn’t do the job right.

We crossed some ‘tentvilles’ where hobos had BBQs! And some lazyboys! Talk about leisure!
I remember traveling to NYC some 25 years ago with my buddy who was a trucker. We had a delivery at the Hunts Point Market in The Bronx. I was fascinated all the businesses warehouses etc had razorwire. We come across some people living in the shell of a stripped down car and hanging on the razorwire next to them was a raw chicken. I turned to my buddy and said "look they have a microwave" he damn near ran into them.
It was bad even back then.

We ended up getting stranded at the Jersey City Truck Stop when his drive shaft cracked. Even across the river it was BAD. Go outside the gates and you are immediately in a project. The guy at the desk kept a shotgun on hand and there were underage crack dealers soliciting the truckers. The wind was blowing from across the water and my white teashirt was brown by the end of the day.

No Thank You not for me
