We have a deep prospect pool and draft pick to make it work if Win want futurs.

It's deep at NHL level, but there's no bluechippers at prospect level. Hopefully, we get some this draft. Hutson is our only prospect that has a chance at becoming a high end performer, maybe Mailloux.

There are a lot of prospects, but not ones of true high quality.

Some of you got worked out too much about PLD. Summer is a bummer because he won’t get traded to MTL? Ben voyons…
Camp can't start soon enough but if we don't make a couple of moves people are pining for I expect to hear about it after every loss...

Heck some will bring it up even when we win.

For:

Dubois extended at 8 years 8 million

Now all the pressure is on Dubois to perform as the highest paid player.

PLD made a lot more sense if we were trying to be competitive as soon as next season which is why we didn't make the trade IMO. Habs are going to be bad for a while, that will only change with good drafting and luck. The sooner you accept it the better for your sanity.

I think it's a lack of experience. Most of us who've been following the team since the early 90s and before have seen this play out so many times. If PLD wanted to come here, he would have played his last year in Winnipeg and came at a team friendly contract. He knew Montreal wouldn't be competitive this year and a trade would ask for assets that would diminish the competitiveness of this team that's in a rebuild. The fact that he apparently wanted 9M$ for a rebuilding team was also already a big red flag. There was only 1 rebuilding team on his list, MTL. It was basically 9M$ for if it's a place with over 50% tax rate and few options to reduce the rate like in the US.

Do you think he made sense last year in a Dach like move with two years left on his contract?
