If I was WPG I'd be so cheesed with all these crap returns lmao.

A combination of Harris, Dvorak, 31st OA, Anderson, Beck, etc is just SO underwhelming. Happy I'm not a Jets fan and hopefully Hugo can do some fleecing.
I just can't see Anderson moving in any PLD trade since he has a 8 team NTC and I'd imagine Winnipeg is very likely on it.

I’m sticking with my original call - we are acquiring PLD and drafting Reinbacher with our first round pick.

I don’t know how the stickhandling will go to make those things reality but it’s my prediction, especially if Smith isn’t available when we go to pick.

PLD is part of the rebuild. We can offer lotto tickets for a real thing

Dreger must've read my 3 way proposal with Detroit and Winnipeg

To Habs: 9th overall + PLD
To WPG: 5th overall + Dvorak
To DET: 18th overall + Harris + whatever else it takes from WPG or MTL to make up the difference
That’s horrible for Detroit

I mean I don’t even know what the + could for Detroit to makes sense
Not very creative, I can think of a dozen ways to make up the difference between 9 and 18 + Harris, especially when Detroit already has pick 17 and would be going back to back

And that Detroit would want to do it ?? It’s not only getting value but the other team need to have an interest doing it and Detroit have 0 reason to make that.

Friedman expects PLD will narrow destinations down 2-3 teams in the coming days (29:20 mark)

Yeah, he’ll narrow down destinations that never existed and that were invented by his agent faced with PLD overwhelmingly and cultishly engrossed with everything Montreal.

Is that scenario partly premised on making it easier for the Habs to include Barron in a Dubois trade?

The Montreal Everywhere Dubois Welcome Tour

It was presented as a list of possible destinations for trade/contractual talks. Those teams could balk at the demands or were not interested to acquire him is possible, but that Dubois can decide after submitting said list that he finally doesn't want to go there is weird.

Absolutely.

While Barron has way more offensive flair to his game and is a great prospect in his own right, I see Reinbacher as a much more well rounded overall defenseman. A guy that will ideally become similar to a McDonough or Ekholm. Someone who can matchup well with anyone and play a smart, simple, puck moving and physical game defensively while still contributing offensively. He brings a more complete game, and should be with the club after a full year in the AHL (barring injuries of course).

My comment was tongue in cheek but it’s all too obvious where PLD stands.

Dubois is being devalued by some and compared to Drouin and also devalued like Danault. He's a darn good top 2C like Suzuki but they bring different elements. Of course you want salary cap advantages and to get Dubois at $7M - $8M range but that's not his market value. If that doesn't happen, I am fine with it but lets not pretend we are easily going to find a physical center like him at a later date. That's flawed

What players are "worth" is a also a flawed conversation. The closer they get to UFA, it switches to market value mostly. If he was age 28+, I'd pass. But he is what next year? Age 25? That's a great piece to add if it fits our salary cap structure.
Reports now indicate we don't want to budge on assets and aren't keen on his salary demands. In this market Dubois is only worth what Kent Hughes will pay him. That is his value nothing more nothing less. So we don't like either side of the puzzle. Could others possibly be wondering why if he is so hell bent on coming here and popping up all over the place on social media. I had the same perspective on Caufield and it is so logical and Darren Dreger(ish) I wasn't wrong there either.:sarcasm: Now maybe Dubois gets more elsewhere but at that point He won't be a Hab and I won't give a damn.

Not entirely sure I get why the Kings are after him. They already have Kopitar, Danault, Byfield and Vilardi. They also don’t really have the cap space unless they offer Iafallo or Arvidsson. Not sure it’s the smartest of moves to get PLD.
