Cheveldayoff letting Dubois call the shots makes Winnipeg look incredibly weak imo. I can see them sitting on him if they don’t get exactly what they want threw the sign and trade if only to try and send a message that they won’t be bullied by other managers and players.

I mean everyone is trying to get the f*** out of Winnipeg. Both Ehlers & Connors are on record saying they don't want to go through a rebuild. I'm sure they're biding their time & seeing what Chevy gets out of Wheeler, Schiefele, Hellebucyk & PLD. If it doesn't look good, they might be the next 2 out.

Connors still has 3 years left, but Ehlers only 2. Next summer, we could be talking about Ehlers not wanting to resign & is on the block.

The only notable player signed long-term there is Morrissey. Winnipeg is essentially set-up to go through a rebuild. They are fighting against it.

Not nipping the problem in the bud two years ago is biting them hard now. It clearly isn't just the City players are having issues with.
If I'm ownership I'm asking serious questions of my GM at this point.

I heard Renaud Lavoie on French radio this morning say that Hellebuyck didn't technically say he wants out. He only said he doesn't want to go through a rebuild. So if Jets don't go through one, it's possible Hellebuyck signs an extension with them.

Yeah, I really wonder how Chevy is surviving all this bullshit. Huge dressing room issues for at least 2 years, no playoffs last year, a huge drop off this year in 2nd half with a terrible playoffs, players wanting out, coach quit ....

That's an organization that needs a change over in management.

AskedDFO and Seravalli said there's mutual interest, moreso from PLD's side. Says Habs aren't afraid to wait until next season to sign him. Got the sense that he's been told, or thinks the Habs won't be the highest bidder in terms of assets given up to acquire PLD.

This is interesting.

PLD could technically come back to WPG and sign a 1 year deal and sign as a UFA.

There was a post on the Winnipeg board that made me laugh.

"It seems that PLD loves the Habs, but they have him friend zoned.". Lol

WPG can take him to club elected arbitration, I think?

No, it's passed. They only had 48 hours after the end of SCF to do that. PLD can apply to take Winnipeg to arbitration til July 5th. Doubt he does that.

No, sorry there's a two day window of July 5 & 6th where Winnipeg can do it. So once the player window ends, team window re-opens for another 48 hours.

Muhaha Emoticon

...Lindholm basically just did Dubois (and maybe the Habs) a solid by letting it be known he was probably not reupping with the Flames...a much more accomplished #1C now available makes it even less likely that Chevy gets anywhere close to market value for PLD, methinks...
