...Lindholm basically just did Dubois (and maybe the Habs) a solid by letting it be known he was probably not reupping with the Flames...a much more accomplished #1C now available makes it even less likely that Chevy gets anywhere close to market value for PLD, methinks...
i could see the Avs being all over him

well im sure a few teams will

No, it's passed. They only had 48 hours after the end of SCF to do that. PLD can apply to take Winnipeg to arbitration til July 5th. Doubt he does that.

No, sorry there's a two day window of July 5 & 6th where Winnipeg can do it. So once the player window ends, team window re-opens for another 48 hours.
Difference is if team used first window he is eligible for an offer sheet. If they use second window he cannot sign one.

...or...LA acquires him and Chevy is left holding the Youppi bag...
Lindholm probably has far more destinations he will accept than Dubois so there a plenty of teams to work with. The players seem to becoming increasingly more aggressive in terms of trade demands. Once upon a time you would never hear of a player still under contract making trade demands or even indicating they wouldn't resign. I hope Montreal are respectful enough to their players that the lid would be kept on something like this. I like the fact that Hughes has talked to every player even rumored to be moved at TDL because it shows respect and will generally be reciprocated. Petry let it be known that he wanted out but our group inherited that problem. That was a masterful job!

for those concerned about paying PLD 500k to 1 million more today. It means nothing when the cap goes up by 10 million over the next 2 years.

José Théodore say that Habs need to pay Slafkovsky or Guhle, with Mailloux and a 1st for Dubois lol.

Slafkovsky have higher potential than Dubois, no way Hughes will trade him.
I'm still amazed to see how former players value other players in trade discussions. Whether it Theodore, Laraque or other former players/coach, their evaluation always seems sooooo different. I'm not sure if this is because they are looking at these issue with a different filter/perspective or they are really unknowledgeable. I guess it can be both, but still...

100%

PLD at 8.5-9 Million will look just fine in 4-5 years.

People don't understand that the cap is rising.
OMG, did you just discover that? Hot diggity!!

If so, then you have better insight than the agents for Jesper Bratt, Cole Caufield and Roope Hintz!!

I mean everyone is trying to get the f*** out of Winnipeg. Both Ehlers & Connors are on record saying they don't want to go through a rebuild. I'm sure they're biding their time & seeing what Chevy gets out of Wheeler, Schiefele, Hellebucyk & PLD. If it doesn't look good, they might be the next 2 out.

Connors still has 3 years left, but Ehlers only 2. Next summer, we could be talking about Ehlers not wanting to resign & is on the block.

The only notable player signed long-term there is Morrissey. Winnipeg is essentially set-up to go through a rebuild. They are fighting against it.
I don’t know what Winnipeg is going to do moving forward. The players they’ve had forcing their way out and them giving into the demands can’t bode well for the future of their franchise. A lot of players aren’t going to enjoy the Manitoba lifestyle in comparison to others. But how do you get anyone to stay if there’s an easy out? A successful team or a playoff team isn’t always going to be a reality so are they just going to fold as a franchise whenever they have to do a reset? Doesn’t sound very healthy.

Yes please so we can move on to 500 pages of Lafreniere next

It does feel like we'll all just move on to the next "thing".

We were all begging for the Caufield deal to get done so we could stop talking about it a few weeks ago lol.

We can admit it guys - we're fans. We overanalyze everything.

We’ve never had pages on players that don’t play on the team like this one. At least not for a decade plus. This is the exception because he’s a decent francophone that could potentially have big implications on our future cap. That and he’s completely underwhelming so people are conflicted.
