My family is half French and I'm not even from Quebec. This is not about what language he speaks. This is about a legit top 2C like Suzuki who we can acquire.

Pffffff ... We passed 250 a few days ago...I get that he wants $$$ but what is a career 57 PPG player worth? The cold hard fact is he averages 57 pts a season.....
If he was from Victoria BC would we have 250 pages of discussion for a 57pt guy?
which is the way it should be. no hostage situation hereSeems pretty obvious now that Montreal isn't paying the contract and the acquisition cost.
Kent Hughes definitely throwing it back at PLD and his agent. If you want to come here, you're making concessions.. if you don't, then see ya.
Honestly, it's how I personally feel about it too. My whole interest in PLD was his clearly wanting to come here. Now that it involves a bidding war trade-wise/pretty crazy salary demands, my appetite for it is way less.Seems pretty obvious now that Montreal isn't paying the contract and the acquisition cost.

Yeah because top flight Agents won't stoop that low. It's just a coincidence that he's popping up all over the place on social media
Someone is spoon feeding the media who might that be.
Bang on!!!Seems pretty obvious now that Montreal isn't paying the contract and the acquisition cost.

Someone will pay a lot to acquire Dubois. Someone will sign him to a pretty crazy 8 year contract. I don't think I want that team to be the Habs.
Don’t you get it, John Tavares owed the Leafs a special favor…hometown discount of $11M, happens all the time, players owing special favors for “their team”.
It’s the players friggin livelihood & business, if I was a parent I’d bitch slap my kid for not maximizing earnings - never know when the career ending injury occurs or career suddenly ends.
Owe a favor!! Pffff
I’m sure Kent Hughes used teams as leverage many a time over the course of his agent career, and knows the tell tale sign
Tavares did reportly leave money in the table to sign with Toronto:
How is it obvious?Seems pretty obvious now that Montreal isn't paying the contract and the acquisition cost.

I don’t think this is the case at all. This was always going to be a trade that happens on draft day IMO.Seems pretty obvious now that Montreal isn't paying the contract and the acquisition cost.

How is it obvious?
But LA Fans dont think they will offer up Vilardi or Byfield, it's a similar thing to Dach why trade Vilardi when he Basically provided the same thing as Dubois did last yearHow isn't it?
Marek, Friedman, Engels, Basu.. are all reporting the same thing. They aren't willing to pay him that much more than Suzuki and they aren't trading Dach or their prized prospects, LA can offer Vilardi so the Habs are likely not going to up their offer in acquisition cost and then turn around and pay him Larkin money.
You mean the guys who stand in front of the bell center and ask players there opinions on nonsense?did anyone post the habs TV tweet...
where he wrote
Dubois aint coming here
lol
They didn’t say that at all.How isn't it?

lol their opinion / gossip is as good as any during this circus! You mean the guys who stand in front of the bell center and ask players there opinions on nonsense?
as engels mentioned i this it comes down to what they do with the 5th and if they can trade up. They may not have to if Michkov goes earlierThey didn’t say that at all.
The Basu article was pure opinion. Marek was basically saying that MTL needed to make a decision on if they wanted him or not.
And Engels was hearing from multiple sources that MTL is still his preferred destination.
Lots of conflicting info out there right now.
I know a lot of people think this will somehow materialize on draft day, but if Hughes and Cheveldayoff/Brisson don’t get on the same page going into the draft, it’s not really going to matter. Winnipeg’s approach with this sign and trade makes things tough for not only us, but anybody interested. If Winnipeg really doesn’t want to deal with the headache of arbitration with a player whose already publicly said he has no intention of playing with them even on a one year, they’re going to have to come down in price eventually.I don’t think this is the case at all. This was always going to be a trade that happens on draft day IMO.
I agree that Hughes will stand firm about not wanting to pay his demand of 9M, but we will see on deadline day where he goes. Until then, too early to say.
Draft day..............lots can go on.I know a lot of people think this will somehow materialize on draft day, but if Hughes and Cheveldayoff/Brisson don’t get on the same page going into the draft, it’s not really going to matter. good point, and I think some variation of this happens on the draft floor IF habs can't move up and grab a C.The Habs might not have available the young nhl piece that the Jets want for Dubois, but if that's the case, they could have a 3rd team involved and do something similar to the Dach trade.
The Hawks wanted a top ~10 pick for Dach but the Habs didn't have one available, so they traded Romanov to the Islanders for the pick and then traded that pick to the Hawks.
