Like most of the U25 players

Suzuki does have consistency problem too
The last 25-30 games.............Suzuki got all the junk on his line to see if he could get them going...........felt bad for the guy, he had the likes of Armia, Gally, Drouin, RHP ( best of the bunch ) and throw in some AHL scrubs, with guys like Monahan, Dach, Caufield injured.....

If we can stay healthy as a team Suzuki will be the offensive player we want.
My hope is he can produce 70 pts and play better in his own end............e could be a Bergeron lite so to speak.

A lot of people assume he'll sign an 8-year contract at $9 million a year, and I don't think that's wrong...there's probably a bit of a gap, but it could be as high as Barzal which is 9.15 and as low as Larkin which is 8.75, it's going to be somewhere in that price range. - Elliott Friedman

He's not Patrice Bergeron, he doesn't have that defensive game

All being said, it's totally normal that a player U25 have problem with constancy and I don't have a doubt Suzuki is gonna be a great player for us

I'd trade Hutson for Dubois but the Jets won't value Hutson like we do. Dach and Guhle are not on the table. Just not happening.

We are only going to trade for him if the cost is around the Horvat or Trouba type trades. If higher, let him go to another team and see if he gives them a hard time with the 8 year term.

Brisson saying he is open to 5 or 6 teams on the 8 year extension might be just playing nice to the Jets. For all we know, he is ok with $8.5 in Montreal but any other city will have to pay him $9.5M+
Honestly would like to keep Hutson. If they don't but on a fair trade, I say move on and wait until he inevitably hits FA or buy his rights after next season to extend longer.

Hughes is smart not to bite on a ridiculous proposal by Chevy but if he's offering fair compensation and Chevy isn't budging, he's obviously negotiating in bad faith because he got fleeced for Laine and Roslovic for nothing at this point. He's probably looking at the trade as I need fair compensation for what I gave up to Columbus. Unfortunately, no NHL team will budge to such ridiculous demands

I honestly don't think he'll screw the Habs by signing high. Dude can make up that money easy in Quebec endorsements as the only French speaking star on the team. 1 mil less at 7.85 won't ruin him

Neither of which he compares with. Larkin has been ppg last 2 years, and has another 70+ point season in his history. Barzal has had an 85 point season.

PLD has broken 60 pts and that's it. He compares much more favorably with Hertl, who is at $8.1375m.

It should be Hertl to below Larkin.

$8,1375m-$8.5m.

Byfield+ a late first and some B prospect for 8 years of Dubois? Are you kidding me? Where do I sign? LA is trying to win now so they will have to go all in...

Kings aren't trading Byfield or Clarke. They're non-starters. Maybe Vilardi, but Winnipeg would have to take back significant cap, as Kings have no goalie, not a ton of cap space to sign PLD & a #1 goalie.

They also don't have a 2023 1st. Rumors are Winnipeg wants a 2023 1st.

PLD is a heck of a player. Only issue with has always been consistency but at his best he can take over a game on every facet of the game. The guy on Tony's podcast yesterday said he is a 20-50-30 player, 20% great, 50% good, 30% awful.
I found the description of his play offered by a Peg fan, interesting:

PLD to be effective has to play the agitator hard game, problem is he either gets hurt playing that style or doesn't feel like doing it most nights. When he plays on the perimeter he is just another guy.

Don’t know if this is completely accurate, I don’t watch Peg games, I have other means to fall asleep.

It's fake Insiderrrrrrr season again.

Sounds like Anderson.

That guy is a fraud

I know I'm not well place to critics insider since I report a rumour here but he was saying that he was an ex scout and a real scout call him saying no one knows a Maxime Guerin in the scouting community
Isn't this the guy the internet found to be a retired fireman or something lol

That's pretty much what the guy Tony had on last night said. He said watch game 1 of the Vegas series, he was dominant, but game 2-3-4 you got a good player but nothing that jumped out of the screen, then game 5 he totally tanked it, thus the 20-50-30 ratio he talked about.

I remember the guy pulling a hissy fit and shutting down his Twitter account last year further to him criticizing several mainstream media types and getting a lot of blowback from users.

He subsequently reconsidered and restarted it. Some people on Twitter had looked into him and some said that he was a fireman but no one knew anything about him from the hockey world.

Maybe the guy has an active imagination, can connect dots or has too much time on his hands. He likes setting virtual fires. :sarcasm:

i agree with you but i think that his agent will bring that before he was injured he was in the ppg range. Also, he missed 9 games and then played bad for few games. He still managed to score 27 goals after 28 last season.

Maybe his agent will ask for 9 M$ but after negotiations it will be 8,3-8,5 M$
