It’s not bullshit. There’s a lot you take away and learn from moments of adversity in sports. And there no doubt going to happen when you’re playing at a competitive level. It’s not just “hockey culture.”
You are correct, and except for the abusive behavior which has pretty much been cut out, the mentality behind it still remains. That is a large part of why the province is lagging behind in hockey talent.YMMV.
Pretty much all my hockey coaches acted like Pat Burns... with f***ing kids. I didn't make a case about it when I was smack in the middle of it, but looking back now, yes it was bullshit and totally unacceptable to boot.
Our best outcome is Dubois getting shipped out for a rental and we land him as a free agent next year.If true, it’s basically us now or this summer.
“…the aforementioned source told BHN “that Cheveldayoff wants ‘a 2023 first round pick and Grade A prospect’, something the Bruins can’t really offer to anyone on the NHL trade market right now, the biggest key in LeBrun’s report is Dubois’ reluctance to sign past this coming season. It is widely believed that the only team he would sign long-term with right now is the Canadiens. So that means the Bruins would likely not be acquiring a top 6 center for the long-term right now, and would have to give Dubois $6 million this season only to lose him in free agency in 2024.

NHL Source: ‘Bruins Don’t Have What It Takes To Get Dubois’
Once again Winnipeg Jets center Pierre-Luc Dubois is on the NHL trade market but again, as is the case with most big-name players available via a trade or in NHL free agency, the Boston Bruins won’t be able to afford him. Let’s just say the NHL betting odds on Dubois winding up with the Bruins […]bostonhockeynow.com
I don’t know what your experience was but you sound a bit like a soccer mom when it comes to defending to Dubois’s actions in Columbus.YMMV.

We aren’t talking about that.. I was referring to the infamous shift in Columbus. Although the entitlement seems to still be there. There’s a right way and a wrong way to go about situations like that. Quitting in the middle of a game to get your way should be established as wrong no matter what the level is. I’ll leave it at that.Nope not even close. I simply don't consider a player asking as a problem.
You see it as unprofessional, I don't see it that way, I didn't shit on Petry when he wanted out, so I'm pretty consistent here. There's just no middle ground for us to met on this topic obviously.
Is this you?I'm at the QMJHL draft and had the chance to talk with someone well aware of the Dubois saga. Take it as you want
They are 2 teams remaining :
MTL
LAK
Should be done in the next 2 weeks
For the contrat they are looking at Matthew Barzal contrat as comparable

Man Kings scaring me. They have lots of option to trade.I'm at the QMJHL draft and had the chance to talk with someone well aware of the Dubois saga. Take it as you want

I knew there was a connection.I know him yes haha
He was at the draft yesterday so we had the chance to talk

He’s not my source…I knew there was a connection.
So, that’s your source. Gave you what looked like privileged info and then he posts the same thing on Twitter lol.
So he may not be your source but due to some strange and inexplicable coincidence, he happens to come out with the exact same nugget that was contained in your post. He’s not my source…
Can’t really say more here on a public forum though, sorry
But yes, me and him are talking often but for the QMJHL
If I wanted to keep that info exclusive, I wouldn’t told himSo he may not be your source but due to some strange and inexplicable coincidence, he happens to come out with the exact same nugget that was contained in your post.
I really wasn’t looking for you to say more, whatever gave you that impression?
Here I was thinking that you were fed an exclusive but it turns out that this guy disseminated it at large. I guess he wanted to be a Twitter Hero.
At least, he posted verbatim what was said to you, so there’s that.
Does your source suggest that PLD would be willing to sign 1 year with LA or long-term?If I wanted to keep that info exclusive, I wouldn’t told him
So let’s say we have the same source![]()
I'd be looking at Hertl more than Barzal. That's a $1m difference. Hertl, who I think he compares really well with, has a cap of: $8,137,500.I'm at the QMJHL draft and had the chance to talk with someone well aware of the Dubois saga. Take it as you want

Long term onlyDoes your source suggest that PLD would be willing to sign 1 year with LA or long-term?
Difference was the timing of the signingI'd be looking at Hertl more than Barzal. That's a $1m difference. Hertl, who I think he compares really well with, has a cap of: $8,137,500.
Barzal: $9.150m.
Barzal has an 85 point season which PLD has never come close too.
Splitting the difference brings it to $8,643,750, which is higher than I like.
I figure a bit more than Hertl: 8 years x $8.25m is definitely fair.
I'll take pld but not at the expense of one of our few good young players or prospects. Jets wanted dach or similar. We're in no position to make a deal like thatI don’t understand our fanbase.
We are all starved for top line NHL talent and when a player becomes available who WANTS to play here, everyone complains.
The Habs can’t be a team like MB that is starved for offensive talent. Our roster is still lacking offensive talent and the pipeline of prospects doesn’t look super promising on that front.
