Sadly, for the past 9 years I've had nothing more than a short video clip to help relive my many exhilarating Leaf playoff experiences as a child. Often, I would run around the house, wearing nothing but underwear, shouting and jumping in joy after every goal. The whole neighborhood would loudly ring of car horns; Leaf fans would take to the streets in droves after every win. Needless to say, I'm anxiously awaiting the day I can finally view Leaf playoff footage in HD and that day is finally arriving very soon. :yo:

Let's gooooooo boys!

Guessing Boston in 6. Realistically, I don't like the Leafs chances of winning the series, but stranger things have happened in the playoffs, so who knows? One way or the other, the experience will come in handy, I think.

B's got boo'd off the ice against the sens, they will come out hard in game 1. Leafs shoddy D and inexpierience in the net will be their downfall. B's in 5

If the Leafs push Boston physically as hard as they can, and protect Phil, we can stand toe to toe with them. Obviously we're going to need secondary scoring, and with questions around Bozak's injury, Grabo needs to step up. I'd love to see Kulemin-Grabo-Mac together in an offensive role, give him a shot to be the man and get his confidence on the offence flowing again.

Terrible. A simple win against the Habs could have avoided a first round loss. Should be fun watching a goalless Kessel for an entire series.

Serves the Leafs right for mailing it in against Montreal on Saturday night.

You can't take a night off in this league, and they did, and now they get their worst possible first round matchup.

It's nothing more than they deserve.

On the ice:

The three things that the Leafs have done horribly the last 3 weeks:

1 - Turnovers. Way too many
2 - Breakouts. They've been terrible
3 - As a virtue of (1) and (2), so few shots and fewer scoring chances.

There was zero evidence on Saturday against MTL that any of those things had been addressed.

As for Boston

Big reason I wanted to avoid them, despite their poor play lately, is because of the experience they have. The core of that team is still the one that won the cup 2 years ago. They know how to win at this time of the season. We don't.

We also obviously know that we don't match up against them well either. They've had our number for a long time, and confidence is the big issue; how many players in that room truly believe they can beat Boston in a Best-of-7? That's the task for Randy

If we're talking about the same Bruins team that played Ottawa today? Leafs in 4, no joke.

Well Randy can start by saying we played them very tough this season. Not counting the empty net goal in game 2 of the series, every game has been settled by 1 goal, with one of those games coming in a shootout.

What happened in previous years has NO bearing on what will transpire these playoffs. This incarnation of the Leafs is a different, tougher, deeper team than what we had last year, with a new playing style that matches up much more favourably with Boston than in years past. And the Bruins are a different team than they were last year.

So really, anything can happen. And I'd say that's what many of our players think coming into this match-up.

Are we talking the same leaf team that played Montreal on Saturday?

Leaf fans seem to like to talk about bostons rough finish to the season... yet they got only ONE less point than the leafs the past ten games.
Of all teams that made the playoffs, the leafs are the 2nd worse team defensively. And you know what they say about defense in the playoffs...

The leafa have beat Boston ONCE in the last ten games.

This is going to be yet another utter humiliation from a team that's made a career utterly humiliating the leafs.

We've had our share of awful games lately too.

Even if they beat us though, this Bruins team doesn't seem to have the same drive and determination as the Cup winning team, I doubt they're going far.

Not sure why people keep bringing up last year's games v. boston.

last year boston was arguably the best team in hockey and we were one of the worst, and they killed us head to head.

this year the two teams are right next to each other in the standings, and the season series saw the two teamd play 4 tight one goal games. leafs went 1-2-1 v. boson, scored 7, and gave up 8.

And the leafs only had lupul for one of those 4 games, and not surprisingly, they won that one.

We actually won the game with Lupul out due to suspension. We lost in a shoot-out with him, however he still scored a goal :)

At least you'll enjoy it, right?
