I'm curious how they got to that number considering if you just take 0.5 to the 10th power you get approximately one in 1000. Still highly improbable, but not cartoonishly so like 30,000.You dont think it would be insane for a team to blow 13 straight potential series clinching games? That’s never happened in the history of the big 4 North American sports. After the first Tampa series someone broke down the odds of us getting to 10 and it was around 30 thousand to one.
That whole "can't lose in 7 if you don't play game 7" meme seems even more fitting than it did 1.5 games ago.Just win on Thursday.
Instead of coming here to banter and enjoy the turning of the Leafs mindset and fortunes, you try to attack fellow Leaf fans. These vapid insults, which is all you ever spew, illustrate your true motive for attending. What have you done for me lately is how this movie goes.
He only appears to be a genius to those not firing on all cylinders upstairs, champ.
This is exactly true. The thing about kerfoot is that he's a perfectly passable NHL player, who happens to make 4 million. But I'm not sure that his overall level of performance is any better than the forwards dubas keeps picking up off the scrap heap. Kampf, Kase, Bunting, Ritchie, Vesey, Boyd, Spezza, ZAR....That's true, and as we are all fixated on the salary cap and Toronto's challenges in that regard, the fact he's probably overpaid by 1.0 - 1.5 million doesn't help him with the fans.
Leafs couldn't enter the OZ at all in the first half of the game. Tampa was able to get it out right away.
In the second we got a little better and in the third we were able to enter the zone, control the puck, set up screens and score.
Is this a change they made during the game on how they enter the zone? Or is it just Tampa taking their foot off the gas? or a bit of both?
I hope Keefe and the coaching staff figured out how to penetrate the D and enter the zone.
Hagel said they're doing the same thing and they were winning. I hope the Leafs figured out how to beat the Tampa's D to enter the zone, that would bode really well for us in game 5.
So if he was there for the championship years and they haven't had any reason to fire a person in the organization since then, why isn't he still with them?
Let's hope that Keefe doesn't do what he did last time we were up 3-1 and tinker with the lineup by putting in Sandin who was mostly responsible for 2 goals in a tight game after we shut them out 5-0 the game before. Go with the winning hand....I don't care if Bunting's feelings are hurt. And No bunting.
We are winning without him. And he’s a target for penalties.
Knies has been on for every important goal and saved a goal literally last game.
If Keefe puts bunting in he deserves to be fired
It's honestly crazy how he can just go back to being a fan so soon after his career is overI love Biz!!!! Doesn’t hide his feelings at all LOL
More credit to the Leafs on this comeback. Previous teams would have crumbledTampa really just stopped playing.. I guess they thought they had it in the bag, once it got to 4-3 it went from stopped playing to them getting nervous they got tentative, we gained confidence. Once the tying goal went in you could tell on Cooper’s face was shitting himself.
They can of course play better. But I think once they finally win a series they'll turn it up a notch when that weight is lifted.
Also, I'm not really that scared of Boston tbh (especially if this leafs team finally breaks through). I think the Leafs can go toe to toe with them. They have not looked all that impressive against the Panthers. They actually have a worse xgf% than the panthers (i know they been missing Bergeron/Kreji).
Kinda sick of seeing people talk about this Boston team like theyre some kind of Gods. They haven't won shit since Thomas was a god in the playoffs.
I am really confused as to this whole "Stole this game" narrative. Were they outplayed for long stretches? Absolutely.
But at the end of the day.....
A) the Leafs outshot TB,
B) they outhit TB, and
C) they outscored TB.
4 yrs 800k and the big chair in Detroit vs @550k to sit in the second chair in TBaySo if he was there for the championship years and they haven't had any reason to fire a person in the organization since then, why isn't he still with them?
He's done better than expected for a guy coming from the college league and getting thrown into the toughest match-up in the Stanly Cup playoffs. I think we'll keep himHey guys, I posted maybe a month back in regards to Knies as I’m a Minnesota Gopher season ticket holder. I haven’t had time to watch each Leaf’s game I’m just wondering how Knies is doing overall for your team. Are you happy with him so far? I see he hasn’t been scoring but trust me that will happen sooner rather than later. He’s too talented for it not to.
I like your take, I didn't watch much of Knies in college aside from highlight reels. So far, in the 6 games he's played for the Leafs, and definitely so far in the playoffs, his skating actually seems quite strong. He is much faster than I thought in straight-away speed, especially for his size, and seems to have decent edge work and can twist and drive at a target quite well.Nobody thinks higher of Cooley than me, but he's basically a clone of Barzal, who is one of the hardest players to play with in the league. And again you're treating this like stars don't come out of nowhere all the time based on perceived flaws and development. You think people knew Benn would be a star in junior? Pavelski? Where did Verhaege come from? Points aren't everything man, and it's pretty clear your only evidence of your opinion is "Knies didn't score enough points so he's automatically not going to be a star". Development isn't linear, and he's still growing into his abilities. If his vision improves (already has leaps and bounds since his d0) there's no real hurdles.
His skill is way higher than Kreiders, but his skating is also far behind. They play similar roles and imo could have similar impacts, but they play completely different styles. Both struggle with vision at times too. Knies goes through you, Kreider goes around you is about as simple as i can make it. He's like JVR because stylistically they attack you the same way and have similar strengths/weaknesses. Big difference is people always clamored for JVR to be more physical, which Knies is. JvR also improved a bunch when he found his role.
Not to nitpick but wut? Shots were 12-5 TB after the first, total shot attempts 28-13 Tampa. When I tuned in for the 3rd, Tampa looked pretty gassed so, looking at shot totals, Tampas really came out strong and blew their load in the first?
Shots after the first: 32-19 Leafs.
He's been great. Those who watched him aren't surprised. The more he plays the better he adapts. He saved a goal last night which might have been the dagger to stop our comeback. So I'm sure the points will come sooner or later, there are moments where he realized he can't pull the same moves in the bigs but he's not many making many mistakes.Hey guys, I posted maybe a month back in regards to Knies as I’m a Minnesota Gopher season ticket holder. Theyre a good team yeah, everyone knows that. But they're beatable. So many people act like the Bruins already won the cup this year and no one will be able to challenge them.Okay, they haven't won the Stanley Cup since then, but overall they've been more successful than almost any team in the league in both the regular season and playoffs. They've been to game six and seven of the finals and they advance more years than they don't. It's okay to give credit where it's due...
Obviously I hope you are flat out wrong about knies, and I think to some degree you will be, because his size and strength are going to be an additional asset that may not have shown up in his college numbers.Actually, intelligent analytical people understand that you can find trends in numbers to get a good idea of what's likely to happen in the future.
He better not come out next game.

TB beat NY in 6 games last year, so no...When I tuned in for the 3rd, Tampa looked pretty gassed so, looking at shot totals, Tampas really came out strong and blew their load in the first?
Shots after the first: 32-19 Leafs.
Also, first time Tampa has never blown a 3rd period 3 goal lead in the playoffs ever.
Tampa did come back from 3-1 down to the Rangers last year though right?
I hope Vasy doesn't flip a switch or something. He's looked awful, mainly because the Leafs are causing absolute chaos in front of him and Tampas D has been the softest of any playoff team in front of their net. Tavares and O'Reilly having a picnic there most of the time.
