BTW, we need Chapin's input on his progression from his draft year and why he fell.

Durandeau could be a guy that makes the NHL when needed, but not now. probably gonna be a derek ryan guy who debuts when 30A Bridgeport line of Durandeau or Holmstrom - Raty - Dufour could be a lot of fun to watch next season. I like the mix of different, yet complimentary, skills that those players each bring.
I don't know if Durandeau will make it to the NHL, but he looked good in the couple games that I saw late in the season and really surprised me.
He was very noticeable on the ice and brought that "energy" that all teams can use in their bottom six. Hopefully he can take another step forward next year.

oh so he'll be traded for a goalie who never plays for us?Maybe it is just me, but watching Durandeau reminded me a bit of Carter Verhaeghe, when he played for Bridgeport a few years ago. Both players are seemingly very active on the ice and keep their feet moving, which is all about hard work and can help close the gap on physical/skill limitations.
Verhaeghe has more offensive skill and made it to the NHL by finishing his development with Tampa and Florida, but I think Durandeau has a shot to make it eventually. While I don't necessarily see a 20+ goal scorer at the NHL level, although that would be great, if Durandeau can keep working, he has a chance to be a solid player and valuable against the cap the first few years.
It would be nice to see the end result and benefit from the ultimate development, if he sticks in the system.

If you haven’t seen his one timer from the last game here it is.
To paraphrase a line from Seinfeld; It’s real and it’s spectacular.
Just what we need- another guy who can’t passDufour leads memorial cup scoring with 6 goals and no assists lolView attachment 562774
Wild prediction time . . . Although he will start in the AHL, Dufour will play an exhibition game on Barzal's RW and score a goalDufour leads memorial cup scoring with 6 goals and no assists lolView attachment 562774
i would actually say do that, just because we badly need scoring.Wild prediction time . . . Although he will start in the AHL, Dufour will play an exhibition game on Barzal's RW and score a goal
This thread will go nuts and the debate will begin.
Wouldn't it be funny if the solution to the Barzal RW conundrum is playing for the Memorial Cup tomorrow . . .
Parise - Barzal - Dufour 20 games into the regular season
Book it Dan-o!

A few highlights?
Came here to elaborate on this...Article spoke mostly about his JR career to this point
-Traded twice and was targeted by the Sea Dogs GM to get their push to the memorial cup rolling
-Good spirit in the locker room and spent a alot of time in the gym getting stronger
-Coaches felt comfortable putting him in all situations. Even spent some time at center and practiced faceoffs
-Sea Dogs GM called him and said he expects 50 goals from him but publicly said 40, obv hit 56 + 6 in the playoffs so far
-Hardly mentioned Isles view on him other than keeping tabs on him more this year then past yrs for obvious reasons
Koivula is hopelessCame here to elaborate on this...
There was another rangy, RH shooting goal scorer that was drafted a winger that made the transition to center in the NHL; I'm referring to 40 goal scorer Tage Thompson.
I think Dufour ends up as a winger in the pros, but NYI did try to convert Koivula to center and I wonder if they try to do the same with Dufour. You can never have enough centers.
It was just an example of a winger with size they attempted to convert to center.Koivula is hopeless
