So much complaining about the defenseman...and its certainly earned.....but our forwards are collectively horrible. Cant be just the Hayes injury. They don't forecheck hard....they don't have any sustained pressure in the offensive zone....and no one is taking the body effectively.

We have 1 top 6 winger.

I haven't seen any potential from ADA or Pionk that hasn't been washed away by their God awful D.

I look forward to the day they are both off this team.

This is a very impatient fan base. Defensemen usually take a while to get used to the NHL.

And advanced metrics tell a different story. They both had stretches of play where they did well defensively, and stretches where they didn’t. So did Skjei. So do almost all relatively young NHL defensemen.

So where's the breakdown in our system that Pionk was both unable to find someone to pass it to, and that he/the team wasn't able to get the puck in deep and instead turned it over at our attacking blueline. It seems there should be a way to either maintain position or at least get that puck in deep before the D change
