Wait wait wait. They signed PAP in the off-season, waive him, lose him to waivers, then send Barzal down to the WHL, and now are looking at acquiring a forward? Someone give Snow one of those fake Playskool phones so he can't make any more bad decisions.

without knowing for sure, i believe that the Isles are looking to upgrade/add at RW. i think they feel that they have starved Tavares of legit wingers for long enough.

Parenteau does nothing for us, since we have Clutterbuck, Bailey, Kulemin, Strome, and Beauvillier as equal or better options.

looking for a 2-for-1 deal, i think.

WPG has Wheeler, Laine and Ehlers (a lefty that plays the right side).

maybe Lee/Dal Colle + deHaan for Ehlers or Wheeler?

Dream on about Ehlers. Wheeler makes sense though and I don't think he'll be cheap.

Please Understand
Neither Ehlers or Wheeler is available. Neither is Perreault, seeing as he just re-upped for 4 years, and we have a hard enough time attracting skilled players as it is.

Well Arthur Staple (Isles beat writer) just stated that a mid-season trade is unlikely.

That said, what forwards could your team offer for Calvin DeHaan + 2017 1st rounder.

Staple doesn't find out a lot of things until they happen. After all, he likes to stress that he is literally just a reporter.

With that said, I don't think Snow is looking for a Vanek-type deal. He won't pull the trigger unless it really makes sense, which is why Staple is maybe saying it's unlikely.

Just take Eberle fam. Get him closer to his boy Taylor Hall.
Will accept scraps and picks in return.

If you're accept scraps and picks and not Hamonic I'd be interested.

Pulock doesn't get you someone like Toffoli

Doesn't that seem a bit insane though? Toffoli is an established young top 6 forward while he hasn't accomplished anything.

Well of course adding to Pulock.

I wonder if we see a Jets Islanders deal.... Rumors out there that Chevy was at the Isles Oilers game a few days (week) ago, De Haan is rumored to be available, LHD... Jets need that, Jets have a ton of excess forwards...

Perhaps Burmistrov for De Haan makes some sense or something similar to that. I don't think it will be a huge deal but i think theres a fit there between the Jets who are looking for an LHD and the isles looking for forward help.

Burmistrov plus B prospect for De Haan. Probably makes the most sense actually.

Stafford even could be involved but Barzal is a center yes? So is Burmi originally.

Not trying to be rude but I see Burmistrov as about as close to bust material as you can get . Most from 1st round of 2010 draft have established themselves in NHL already and most that haven't have been moved for small pieces. Burmistrov doesn't have a 20g or 40pt season to his resume' yet. Not writing him off totally but I think Snow is looking for established and not a project. de Hann is a NHL defensemen and a pretty good one at that.

The Leafs are looking for a D man there is no secret there and we have the ability to give you Multiple Forward Options as well as Depth D men to replace the D man you move back to the leafs.

I wont make a offer but I will say some names of players available(prices will vary)

Veteran proven players
Komarov
JVR

Young Up and coming players
Connor Brown
Josh Leivo'

Vet Cast offs
Milan Michalek
Brooks Liach
Peter Holland

Depth D men

Again like I said prices will vary all depends on what the Islanders are willing to spend I guess

does that work for most red wing fans because I'd be down for it .

hamonic/pulock being injured doesnt make the timing of it good though .

Pelech is ready for the nhl , so that offsets that concern somewhat
Not really no, Nyquist is too important for the Wings offense to surrender him for less than a substantial defensive upgrade.

Could see Frk/Pulkkinen for a late/conditional pick.

Not sure have seen some Wing fans do Nyquist for De Hann and others for Pulock as well. Keep forgetting that De Hann is a LHD that we really don't need the only LHD i would consider for the future of course would be Cam Fowler. If i'm Detroit i'm looking at something around Nyquist+ for Travis Sanheim.

I'm assuming that NYI wants a top 6 forward. Don't see how they can offer Dmen with their injury situation, and don't underperforming players like Strome, Nelson, Bailey, and Lee getting much interest. I mean, if they were any good, those are precisely the type of players you're looking for, right? How would another GM look at them and offer something better in return?

I doubt Philly would trade Sanheim unless it's as part of a package for a young top-3 or better defenseman with room to grow.

Burmistrov is not a bust or a project. He is what he is - a bottom 6 forward with limited to no offensive ability and decent PK ability.

That being said, he's not going to provide any offensive help to the Isles or anyone else. He has limited trade value IMO.

Yeah - getting PAPpy back may be a cheap and decent way of getting the forward help the Islanders need.
