I’m willing to take the risk with Shestyorkin since we have tons of goalies in the system. Also, now Georgiev is a starter. Other games he looks like an average AHL goalie. I don’t like that.

Goalies are one of the most volatile assets. At one point Skapski and Halverson were legitimate prospects. That changed pretty quickly.

Behind Georgiev, we have Huska, Wall, and Lindbom if we lose Shesterkin. I'd prefer to keep the guy who's looked very much in the right place in his first two games.

Full disclaimer that I am a big fan of Shesty.

Lmao. Are you seriously equating Skapski and Halverson with Shesty and Georgiev? Neither of those goalies were anywhere close to the two we have now.

I'd say it's preferable to not mess with the guy who may be your starter for the next decade.

The writing's on the wall. I expect something to be coming along shortly. A 3-goalie rotation has a short shelf life.

They've done him a solid by calling him up...if he still prefers to play in Russia until Lundqvist retires then that's his decision and there would be nothing wrong with it. It surely wouldn't hurt the Rangers...

Shesterkin is older than Georgiev and has proven exactly nothing. There's no way you can realistically expect him to be a starter in the NHL based on his track record. He's a good goalie...no doubt about that...but being a starter in the NHL is a different animal.

Yawn. Another game, another four point night. No big deal.

Also another game farther away from that last star we need in the draft unfortunately.

But Panarin, you are a smashing free agent success story.

and probably lose Shesterkin (you don't think he would bolt?)….its not so easy

Again...no problem there. Rangers keep his rights and they don't need him anyway until Lundqvist retires. Nobody loses anything if he prefers Russia to the AHL.
