He can leave for Russia at this point if we do.
I don’t get the Georgiev love. He’s having one of his good games, but soon he’s going to have one of his awful games and we’ll be ready to execute him again.

I want Georgiev to succeed to give us a better return. Either way, even if Georgiev is a starter, he’s eventually going to want to go elsewhere if they treat Igor as the starter. We’re not going to have two capable starting goaltenders for longer than a season. And we need Hank as a mentor.

We can trade him @ that point then.

Right now he’s a starter and Hank is exiting stage left and we don’t know what we have w Shesty (yet)

No big deal...Rangers would keep his rights...and he can return when Lundqvist retires. Rangers don't really need Shesterkin now.

I'd say it's preferable to not mess with the guy who may be your starter for the next decade.

The writing's on the wall. I expect something to be coming along shortly. A 3-goalie rotation has a short shelf life.

There is no way to keep Shesty and Georgiev without Shesty bolting for Russia. We need to get that idea out of our heads.

Only up 2 and the Islanders have a lot of 3rd period comebacks this season, need to keep scoring because we're not holding them to 1 goal lol

Shesterkin is an unproven rookie...he's not gonna get the majority of starts anytime soon...maybe over a few weeks if he's lucky and playing well.
And even if Georgiev wanted to leave he still couldn't...the maximum he could do is file for arbitration...

I agree with this. When Georgiev plays well, everyone forgets his prior games where he is subpar. Georgiev has been bipolar since he came up. Several great games, several subpar ones.

There's also no scenario where you can hav Shesty going up and down between Hartford. That's just dumb. They need to move someone (most likely Georgiev, soon.
