The Islanders shouldn't have a policy against this in the first place!

Being inclusive cant be bad for business
The policy isn’t about this really, it’s everything. Lou was probably pissed that the team brought back the fisherman jersey, if it were up to him we’d just have the home and away jerseys and that’s it. This is just an extension of that.

I absolutely agree if some players don't want to wear it. They are forced to do things. People have opinions, Negative or positive you should respect that. Also it's not the player jobs but the pr direction to make decisions to support the cause.

People who don't agree with this are Twitter pros activist that everyone hates.

I feel like forced compliance will have the opposite effect and engender resentment and reactionism. But that's just the way I see it.

Defending an opinion on an ideology is one thing, being canceled and losing your livelihood because of disagreeing with said ideology is entirely different.
Who is being canceled?

Jesus I wish I could cancel all these people crying about being canceled, being "canceled" just seems like an amplifier at this point.

Well if you actually read the article: "the Islanders have never worn rainbow jerseys due to an organizational policy against wearing specialized warmups. The only ones they wear are mandated by the league: Hockey Fights Cancer, Military and St. Patrick’s Day."

Why does the league mandate St Patrick’s Day warmups lmao

It's interesting that Military Pride night is league mandated. Makes one wonder if the NHL is getting paid by the DOD as part of their recruiting efforts (i.e., a deal similar to that of the NFL- DOD).

Exactly. It's nice they are making donations still, but nope that won't be enough for some people. We must force everyone's believes on everyone or CaNcEL!!!

Rangers did the same thing a few weeks ago, a dozen loud people cried about it for awhile, and then everyone moved on.
So noble and courageous, I’ll never wear a colorful jersey for 15 minutes!! Gotta show those people that face discrimination everyday

you call criticism I call it public bullying and shaming
This is all bullshit drummed up by some low life news reporter trying to create a controversy.

The Isles have never featured this as a portion of their Pride nights (they have had pride nights before)

Lou isn't being shamed or bullied.

Your reading comprehension is poor. I didn't state it was LGBTQ + people doing the threatening, it could be but who knows. With that being said their are people online who threaten others daily if they state they don't believe in LGBTQ + ideologies.

Doesn't know the difference between their and they're, lol. Once again, it's not close to what you're equating to.

Consumer activism doesn't bring social liberation...... regardless what marketers tell you.

How about the Author of arguably the greatest novels ever written?

Who has trans friends and colleagues but dares to believe that trans women aren't biological women.

It's so bad faith to say things like this.
JK Rowling lives in a f***ing castle, "cancelling" did f*** all to her bottom line.
