No one should have a problem with this.

The kids have a pink shirt day at school for anti bullying/awareness.

We forgot about it and he just wore a regular shirt that day. He was in grade 2 at the time.

They left him out of the class picture because he didn't have a pink shirt on. Talk about stupidity.
So ironically the adults bullied an 8 year old on anti bullying awareness day?

How about the Author of arguably the greatest novels ever written?

Who has trans friends and colleagues but dares to believe that trans women aren't biological women.

It's so bad faith to say things like this.

I absolutely agree if some players don't want to wear it. They are forced to do things. People have opinions, Negative or positive you should respect that. Also it's not the player jobs but the pr direction to make decisions to support the cause.

People who don't agree with this are Twitter pros activist that everyone hates.
The problem with your statement is that there's already some nights where players are mandated to wear specific-colored items.

You should be able to name one of these many people.

People who are already famous can afford to be cancelled because they can just sit on their earnings for the rest of their lives and be perfectly fine.

The average person doesn't have such luxuries.

Jordan Peterson, he either complies and has to go through an online re-education process or lose his license. That's the highest profile person in Canada I can think of.

A man with the ability to send a message to nearly 4 million people in an instant is canceled. Okay pal.

It's hilarious, it's like saying Louis CK is canceled while he does podcasts, sells out MSG and ppv streaming of the event, and I even gave the man a few dollars for his previous special during covid.

It's interesting that Military Pride night is league mandated. Makes one wonder if the NHL is getting paid by the DOD as part of their recruiting efforts (i.e., a deal similar to that of the NFL- DOD).

Someone needs to refuse to participate in military pride night and say "it's against my beliefs" just to blow this whole thing wide open.

I support the right of people to identify however they want. I support the right for people or have relationships (friendships, marriages, sexual relationships, business relationships, whatever) with whoever they want. I think people should be able to be happy. It’s no one’s business who someone eats, sleeps, exercises, walks, talks, or does whatever with — outside of illegal predatory behavior which can and does occurs with straight, gay, bi, and whatever other identifications you want to list.

If you are happy and staying in your own lane (i.e. not telling the world how or what to think about human relationships from whatever angle whatsoever) I don’t care. Be happy. Do your thing and be happy.

All that said, do we really need a Pride event where players wear jersey’s commemorating that?

The world is full of people that have been unfairly marginalized and treated unfairly. It’s not good and we should always work to be better. Sadly, the NHL only has an 82 game season. Unless each team is going to do a separate 82 slate of statement jerseys, I’m afraid we’re gonna leave some people out.

Sounds like the NYPost creating a controversy over nothing. This is not anything like the Philly or NYR situation, NYI only wears the special pregame jerseys that they have to, which is fine.

Well if you actually read the article: "the Islanders have never worn rainbow jerseys due to an organizational policy against wearing specialized warmups. The only ones they wear are mandated by the league: Hockey Fights Cancer, Military and St. Patrick’s Day."
Wait what? Hockey Fights Cancer… Military… St. Patrick’s Day? The f***? The league mandates St. Patrick’s Day warmups?

Freedom of choice has never been freedom from criticism.
Freedom of criticism hit an all new meaning and level with the advent of social media and justice warriors though. People take it a lot further than just mere criticisms.
