Meh the Leafs were the St. Pats.St Patrick's Day warmup jerseys are mandated by the league? That's like the 3rd dumbest thing I've heard all year.

First rule of Pride Night is don't talk about Pride NightThey're still having pride night, catering to people, donating to those charities, etc.
Pride night isn't about wearing a rainbow jersey in warmups.
Why can't they have a pride night without donning special jerseys in the pre-game skate? Why must it include that?

The issue here is that Hockey continues to have the reputation of being one of the least inclusive sports. Racist incidents, constant homophobic language used on the ice, etc.
And by saying hockey is for everyone, but players in the league refuse to wear a pride jersey for warm-up because, well, they don't want to be inclusive of LGBTQ+ people.. it's hurting the inclusion that the league is trying to promote.
There is no room in any sport, any room, anywhere for people who would not want to be inclusive of someone just because of their sexual preference.
Sounds like he was done a favorNo one should have a problem with this.
The kids have a pink shirt day at school for anti bullying/awareness.
We forgot about it and he just wore a regular shirt that day. He was in grade 2 at the time.
They left him out of the class picture because he didn't have a pink shirt on. Talk about stupidity.
Same with military.St Patrick's Day warmup jerseys are mandated by the league? That's like the 3rd dumbest thing I've heard all year.
Shouldn't be a surprise to you that most of the world strives for individualism and not giving a shit about others.showing compassion = bending thy knee to some.
Whether you like it or not, the point of those nights is visibility. Donations tend to not be super visible unless made on a 4ft by 7ft cardboard cheque.
(I mean, teams can do whatever they want since there is no league policy, but those Pride Nights have a serious Streisand Effect vibe to it lately)
... On the other hand, League-wide Policy on Pride Nights probably incoming.
Well if you actually read the article: "the Islanders have never worn rainbow jerseys due to an organizational policy against wearing specialized warmups. The only ones they wear are mandated by the league: Hockey Fights Cancer, Military and St. Patrick’s Day."
So basically the only reason it's "news" is to enable loudmouths on all sides to get in more of that sweet sweet outrage they so desperately crave.
If you're at the game during one of those events you know it's pride night. They say it 500 times.Whether you like it or not, the point of those nights is visibility. Donations tend to not be super visible unless made on a 4ft by 7ft cardboard cheque.

God am I ever tired of these stories. About time people are fed up with the rainbow getting shoved down our throats.
At this point in time, 99.9% of people couldn’t care less if you have sex with a man or woman. 20 years ago it was a big deal but at this point everyone is desensitized to it. Those that do have a problem with it are caught up in their ways and won’t be changing their minds at any point in their lives. Why we need to “celebrate” people’s preferred choice of sexual partners makes no sense to me.
Yes, let's use the inclusive language of their campaign slogan and stretch it to homophobes.
I'll forward your complaint to the NHL.. "Hockey is for everyone, except racists, homophobes, etc. etc." should be your new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion tag line.
