you might have to eventually trade him for cap reasons or a younger LHD makes him expendable but EK , Carlson , Pulock all play the right side so idk how any of them make Leddy expendable tbh .

wouldnt mind seeing Ian Cole come come in to play behind Leddy on left side ; he's only 29 so maybe a 3 year deal would be a good option
yeah I gave it more thought after posting that and he could get overpaid a lot due to supply and demand

I have had a feeling about Faulk - it would be very "Lou" to have everyone talking about other defensemen and then he trades for Faulk.
And let's get really crazy: how about a big deal where we get Faulk and Skinner? IIRC, Skinner teamed up very effectively with JT at a WC at some point. And here's the really crazy part: I could see CAR's new owner maybe interested in taking Ladd back as part of the deal to make the salaries work. He wants CAR to get tougher, and maybe he sees Ladd as a link back to their Cup glory? Okay, I'm hoping a little bit here.

I agree that 11 or 12 for Grubauer is too steep.
It has been discussed here that either 31st comes back - I'd love to expand the deal to grab Vrana too. There has also been discussion of possibly taking Orpik to reduce the price of a 1st.

The new Canes' owner is cheap. No way he takes Ladd. He is trying to eliminate their long time radio play by play guy, stating that they can just simulcast TV. To NYI - Karlsson extended 10 mil x 7yrs , Bobby Ryan with 3 mil retained by OTT ( 4.25 mil hit to us ) , Anderson (4.75 ) and JP Pageau (3.1)
To OTT - Both 2018 1st picks , 2019 1st rd pick , 2018 2nd rd pick , JOSH BAILEY ( Lou not crazy about him not his guy sell high for some EK space ) , Cal C , Casey C , Nelson , Greiss, Ho-Sang , Aho

At this point, trading for Karlsson wouldn't surprise me. The owners hired Lou to make this a legitimate franchise, and he's committed to making that happen. But what would we give up for Karlsson? We'd have to get rid of the Ladd and Clutterbuck contracts somehow but, if there's anyone who could make it happen, it's Lou.
And there's no way that Lou keeps both top picks.
