Idk how Gallant can ever put Blais back in

Gauthier had two points in 8 mins of ice time. Blais doesn’t even have a point in all his mins this year
Yeah Blais is cooked. Would not be shocked if he’s in Hartford or perma scratched until trade deadline when he’s traded for a 6th or 7th round pick.

Happy with the win but playing four forwards over 21 mins to win a game in December seems ridiculous, three of them over 23 mins. Develop your players to be in a better position to have a full group contribute in the post season. I understand 6pp, but why can't this group have more contributors...
Absurd take. These guys basically play every power play for 2 minutes straight. That’s 12 minutes right there or, and math has never been my strength but even I can do the math- only 11 minutes of equal strength time— or almost exactly the same allocation as the other lines.

Can’t you just enjoy a win in a very important game?!?!

that was some top shelf cheese by KK,and some play by Miller to get him the puck.Well deserved win tonight,we thoroughly outplayed them.

There were a lot of long faces on the Isles bench towards the end of the game. Like the Pens they know we are the better team, they can win the odd game if they manage to trap and special teams their way to victory, but this Ranger team is growing and they know it.

He was benched for a time because of a bad giveaway that lead to a goal. Not the end of the world that he got 13 minutes.
What message does it send when it seems as if Panarin has about 3 giveaways a game and never sits and Kakko gets benched as soon as it happens.

Panarin gives the puck away a half dozen times per game and doesn’t get benched. Because he produces. But did he learn to produce first, or while making mistakes? It’s the chicken or the egg argument. I say give the kids longer leashes to make mistakes. It’s how they will learn what works and what doesn’t at this level.

Just watched the recap and it pretty much confirms what I've been saying, leave Goodrow, Gauthier on the 4th line. The reason teams go far in the playoffs is they have lines like that to muck it up and drive teams crazy. We Islandered the Islanders last night, it should be obvious to this team that line is a building block of success.

I agree, the only thing we aren't privy to though is that maybe the coach told him multiple times not to do something and it continues to happen.

For a guy with no skill Goodrow sure makes some pretty passes. Tonight to Gauthier. Few weeks ago to Chytil vs Vegas, the pass to Panarin against Philly.
Dude is worth every penny. He makes some bone headed plays here and there but overall he’s exactly as billed. I noticed most of the criticism surrounding him pertains to where he’s playing in the lineup which isn’t his fault

Miller now leads the league in scoring amongst d-men that do not have any PP points this season. I honestly think he has Brent Burns type upside but obviously with Fox here he’s not going to get a chance to really rake up points with the man advantage.

I believe that fans are mostly the same across all teams. Give or take like 10%. There are plenty of infuriating rangers fans too.
If you want to talk about douchebag fans, the Hurricanes top the list.

It’s different, it’s not being total assholes like Islander and Flyer fans who want to start fights, or being ignorant to reality like Penguins fans. It’s embracing stupidity and everything that’s wrong with small market expansion markets. A lot of it is driven by the organization itself.

Again, I think it's a joke. We have certain other players that can make horrible giveaways during games and never get sat. Different standards for different players here. And it's not just with him. It's just frustrating because there's no need to have to play other forwards as much as we do and then sit some of these guys.

Panarin has 4 giveaways in the game and plays 24 mins

Kakko actually didn't even register 1 giveaway but plays 12 mins.
Giving up a puck when you're the last man back that directly leads to a clean breakaway ain't so hot. Kakko knew it was a major screw-up.

He got benched for a few shifts. Big effin deal.

If Torts was coaching, Kakko wouldn't have played another shift and would be benched in the next game.

In sports, the top players aren't held to the same standards. You might not like that, but it's a universal that you already know.

After a game like that, being negative about one player's minutes is staying on agenda out of stubborness. It's like the folks who have to bash Trouba every day, even if he plays a good game, and he did play a good game, even if it was his first of the season.

He, and a few others, can't.

They always have something to complain about and it's usually their go-to issue, whatever it happens to be.

Just be glad you're not one of them. It can't be much fun to watch that game and come away annoyed.

Games like that are why I became a fan.

Somewhat true. Blais was benched last game because of that stupid penalty he took. But if Panarin, Mika or Fox makes a stupid mistake I doubt Gallant would have the balls to sit their ass even for a shift.
Except just last game (or the one prior?) Gallant took Panarin, a PPG player for his entire career (that matters), off for the remainder of a PP to send a message to him, and replaced him with Chytil after a Panarin had a terrible giveaway that didn't even result in a goal....

Panarin has like 5 giveaways a game it seems, I never see him getting benched for them.
Yea we should move Panarin to the 4th line or bench him because that will work.

Then when he stops playing hard (he is playing all out right now) and rumbles about a trade are whispered about, and we miss subsequently miss the playoffs for 5 straight years again, you'll be the first to lament the team's terrible luck.

In the end, it all went well. Kakko scored the GWG, which will give him a confidence boost. The benching won't make him more conservative in the next game I think, considering that goal and encouragement he got from Kreider and Goodrow.

And obviously good for Gallant knowing that he can't sit Kakko for the rest of the game, he can still contribute (which he did).

Brods and Gauthier both deserve their regular spots on the 4th line, they can actually skate.

Throw in a random goal here and there, draw some penalties, and don't get buried in the defensive zone.
Brodzinski has been excellent defensively.

He doesn’t have any finishing ability to speak of, but he’s fast, good on the forecheck, and reliable defensively. Sounds like a good 4th liner.

Him and Gaut together really have the makings of a great energy 4th line.

I’ve also really liked Kravtsovs game lately. He’s starting to look like he belongs.

something something PP points. Something something PP Goals.
The guy is a ppg player. I admit I would like him to shoot more instead of thinking pass all the time but lets not forget everything else he does on the ice. He even jumped a fishstick last night when Miller was crosschecked in the face.

Are you allowed to healthy scratch a player who was first star of the last game? Asking for Gallant.

Huge third period, glad they fought back and pulled it out. Would’ve been a rough break with a typical Islanders loss. PP was pretty booty.

Gauthier is a shot in the arm for this lineup, having a guy with speed and skill like his on the 4th line can be huge to give the team jump. There’s no reason Blais should see the ice in his place.

Kravtsov to the first line was good and really made the lines start to click. Hopefully Gallant sticks with these lines. I actually thought Gallant noticeably coached a good game tonight with his adjustments.

Awesome GWG from Kakko and Miller, what a pass and what a snipe.
They should set a 5 year deal in front of Gauthier and offer him some job security . What would he cost us long term ? If they gave Blais 1.5 he would have to get that at minimum or more ..... try 2 million a year ? I would also do Kravs....he is getting more confident ....and would likely cost more probably . if Gaut finds his hands and confidence some club will pay him and price him out of our budget . I would also lock down Schneider ASAP . It is coming together despite a slow start and the kids are not too bad.....maybe Laff is lacking a bit of confidence these days.....
