Refs were ass, but I’m taking that game as another step in the right direction where this team showed they could play much better structured 5v5 hockey and play at a high pace. I’ve liked Brodzinski thus far, and he’s doing a good job of showing management why he can be a cost-effective 4C next year if Rooney is too expensive. Chytil’s been much better since returning too

My thoughts exactly. A good head on his shoulders. Straight shooter. He mentioned playing with Trouba , Kreider and was roomies with Foxy at world juniors I think. Seems like he's going to fit in here real good.

The thing about the Islanders is you are never gonna out muscle them. They have old man strength.

You have to wait ‘em out, and out skill them and out speed them. We kinda picked the wrong approach by trying to go toe to toe in toughness. They are always gonna have that edge on us.

I'm so tired of Hunt. He should never be on any line other than the 4th. There is a reason why he never scored more than 3 goals in a season, and it only took him half a year playing with Panarin this season to hit a career high 4.

Dammit we need Kakko back sooner than later. Perfect world Kakko is back with Bread, Vatrano is on the 3rd, and Hunt is on the 4th/healthy scratch.

No addition will make the team into a to the net, to the high danger area, to the dirty area team that they need to be to thrive in the playoffs. Kreider-Mika is more of a shooting passing duo too. Panarin-Strome have cooties. We need Blais back really badly. Those cut toward the center lane moves he had. Kakko isn't changing the dynamic of Panarin-Strome or Chytil-Goodrow. Dunno. This year will just have to rely on PDO and goaltending.

I like Hunt for sure. He’s a good defensive player and doesn’t make mistakes. But he’s a fourth liner. Like Rooney and Reaves and McKegg. These guys can go soften up the opponent and not make mistakes.

True to form, team mates from my team showed up tonight, bucket of chicken and lots of frosty beverages. So much KilKnenny and Guinness. Couldn't pay as much attention to the game at that point but watched it going back and forth - then we lost.

I've now watched this game all over again on replay, we lost to an incredibly ridiculously lucky goal and a blatantly missed call.
