Oh man, are you kidding me? Jim Hughson is an EXCELLENT play by play man! He one of the best ever! In fact, Jack Edwards, Greg Millen, Kelly Hrudey and other male commentators mentioned here are all good. Otherwise, they wouldn't last very long.
Case and point, HNIC once hired Martin Brodeur to sit on the panel. But he was awful, saying "ya know" at the end of every second sentence. As a result, they never brought him back. That is the way it's supposed to work. You're no good, you are let go.
That's the way it does work for just your average White male commentator. But Cassie Campbell Pascal is not a male. She's a female who was hired solely because she's a female. This would have been accepted had she been good. But she's not. Yet she's still there, which suggests preferential treatment based on gender.
This whole situation bothers me because they are trying so hard to be politically correct no matter what. It just stinks!
