I can guarantee you that pro athletes detest taxes with the kind of income they earn. They’re in the highest tax bracket.Taxes are a good thing. Does your Mother-in-law have cancer? Mine does. If it wasn't for our taxes she would likely be dead. She could not afford the treatments like it costs in the US. Why do you think every pro althlete detests taxes. They don't. You're projecting a lot of personal ignorance as far as I can tell.
You cannot come on this site and re-invent what facts are.
Robertson? The guy got hit once and exploded. Holmberg? What is he a 4th liner? You are so clueless, it’s scary. This team has no picks and no significant prospects minus Knies, who is probably scared to death playing with this group of wussesRobertson or Holmberg? Is Knies not one?
You can fault him for signing/trading for better players than Sandin/Durzi, so they are playing full seasons with other teams.
You don't know any pro athletes. You have no idea.I can guarantee you that pro athletes detest taxes with the kind of income they earn. They’re in the highest tax bracket.
That’s not projecting.

How exactly did he leave us in a good position? He walked all of our stars to UFA as quickly as possible, and after giving them top dollar - which is where we are right now - completely screwed about to either have to massively overpay or lose them.
I love watching the rest of the league signing their young stars to 8 year deals of reasonable AAV.
Dubas is lucky he was fired before having to fix the mess he made here, otherwise it would've finally been obvious how much he f***ed this franchise. I feel bad for Treliving having to figure out his way out of this.
Well, Dubas is doing a fine job in Pittsburgh sending Crosby and Malkin off into the sunset.
I am going to go out on a limb and say people making significant amounts of money don't enjoy giving back significant amounts of money to the government.
Do you like taxes? I'm sure you can donate more to the government if you'd like.
The core forwards are taking all the money, but couldn't lead a book club, much less a team of professional athletes to a championship. We went ALL IN last year and lost; the cupboards are bare and the team has very little other than the big guns by way of value left. The league continues to prove that depth is king, but our team is built around a group of elites and the rest are a rotating cast of minimum-3m players. With no real middle of the roster and no cap space or assets left to build that middle thanks to the all-in push, we are not serious contenders for the next few years.
The reason those guys left is simple: we don't have the money to pay them what they want and we can't offer them the competitive opportunity that would encourage them to take less.
Have you ever lived in New Hampshire? Have you been there? Why don't you try that out for size and tell me how paying less taxes is really great.I am going to go out on a limb and say people making significant amounts of money don't enjoy giving back significant amounts of money to the government.

In Texas they "don't pay state taxes" but absolutely bend you over on property taxes. Also if you're rich and can't figure out how to get a good accountant to mitigate your tax damage that's on youHave you ever lived in New Hampshire? Have you been there? Neither Robertson or holmburg have shown that they can play full time at an NHL level.
You literally said "we protected our prospects", which was the reason why our cupboard wasn't empty youth wise. Then listed 2 of the 3 actual prospects we've had that we traded away. One was for Gustafson who was not good in any case ( at least he got a pick). The muzzin trade was fine.
The prospect pool is atrocious for someone who is supposedly a good drafter that's what happens when you trade away picks for shit like big save Dave and cap dumping mrazek. Unfortunately he also traded away 4 of our next 6 first or second round picks

You will never have an understanding of the world and the human condition by looking at your pay stub every two weeks. It is crazy how bad the people who rate prospect pools are and how good our board is.
I'd rather live in Texas/Florida/Arizona, earn more in the states, dollar goes further, taxed less, and I can get insurance.
I'm not experienced in living in these areas, but if you love taxes you can pay more. I don't appreciate a large portion of my income going to inefficient solutions for problems.
Walking to ufa as quickly as possible would have meant 4 year deals for everyone. Willy and Mitch got 6 and Matthews signed the same 5 year deal all of his peers did aside mcd.How exactly did he leave us in a good position? “No picks” they’re only missing their 2024 1st and a couple 2nds. Have you bothered to look at other competitors draft stock? Florida literally has 1 2nd round pick the next 3 years as far as top 2 rounds go.Robertson? The guy got hit once and exploded. Holmberg? What is he a 4th liner? You are so clueless, it’s scary. It’s plainly obvious to anyone with a set of eyeballs that shanny is the real issue and has been the one pulling strings from the beginningFor me it was both those things
Shanahan was pretty clear, that they had a deal, Dubas backed away then came back saying his wife and kids were OK with doubling of the 4m they had agreed to and an increased term!We became a dysfunctional franchise again with everything that went down in the dueling Dubas and Shanahan press confereces. They were both really weird and unprofessional.
Then we fired the GM after just offering him an extension. We look like a joke, so it's not a surprise that we're not seen as a hot destination right now.
A ppg player is only worth 4m, jfc give yer head a shakeTavares is the only real problem with this team player wise...
He's ufa value this season might be 4 million at best and probably one of the worst captains in leafs history
Covid certainly threw a wrench into the works, but those two contracts handed out to Marner and Matthews were and are the real problem, Will was only slightly overpaid in regard to his comparables the other two were 3m over, what did the other 40 goal guys at that time get? 8s, 9s? Any full NMCs? No they did not, but why did 16 and 34 get them? That was never happening. He walked away from 8 x 11-11.5 from the island and reported 7 x 13 in San Jose and similar 11m range in Dallas and Boston.
Covid absolutely cooked this teams long term planning
The truth is that they are all Toronto guys who never left no matter where they've played, Toronto has always been home to them, they all had houses here throughout their whole careers.Cushy to retire? These guys can move wherever they want once their career is over. They're playing in the pressure cooker that is Toronto instead of Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, etc. That doesn't scream cushy. It speaks to players who want to win and feel like this team can do it, IMO.
Of course. There's a huge difference in living here and living + playing here though. The truth is that they are all Toronto guys who never left no matter where they've played, Toronto has always been home to them, they all had houses here throughout their whole careers.

What rights were restricted exactly?Millionaires who have a choice will avoid living in jurisdictions who have a recent record of suspending and restricting your rights to an extreme degree. Im kind of shocked you cant comprehend that.
