Instead, he traded the 16th pick for Griffin Reinhart at that draft. Barzal slid to that spot. He was like. "We need a D"

Trades the 16th and 33rd pick for Griffin Reinhart. His reasoning? "We needed a D"

If he drafted Barzal and traded RNH instead of Hall for a D he would have McDavid/Hall on one line and Barzal Draistl on the next.

It's beyond embarrassing.

Chia sold away his kingdom, long before he had any real chance to be crowned, piece by piece without knowing it, and now finds himself with almost nothing. He can only point the finger at himself. He's squandered and blundered his way to get to this point. He truly has to go as much as Todd does.

It’s funny. Even if Chia bites the bullet soon (I don’t believe he will) this season will be a lost anyways. The turnaround that has to happen on this roster is no easy task for anyone. I doubt SteveY would have an easy job with it. Lucic, Talbot, Kassian,, Caggulia, Spooner , Benning all need to GTFO but nobody would be willing to take 85 percent of those guys. So unless we retain salary on them we’re boned

This is so true . TMac needs to go . He like a monkey who will keep trying to fit the square peg into the round hole . He just doesn't adapted to the game . He is one game plan fits all coach . The problem even if we bring in a new coach how much can he do ? There a lot of dead weight on this team and that is Chia doing . How do we move Lucic , Sekera and to a lessor extent Russell . Right now we have 6 D men that handles the puck like it a bomb . All the D need to go outside of Larsson and Klefbom and they need to be groomed as a defensive pair . No PP time . Nurse may be worth keeping . I like to see something like this next year

Lots need to change and we need a smart GM to make it happen it can not be left to just a coaching change

I think it's a big improvement on what we have. I'd take a swing at Gardiner for sure. He bungles some plays, but at least he can also make some plays. I'd take the bet that Gardiner can clean up the mistakes. He's not ideal, but have to be realistic of who is actually available.
