No. No it isn't. This franchise doesn't do the whole "accountability" thing. The continued employment of the OBC is all the evidence anybody needs of this.

That's exactly why Mclellan's job is in jeopardy, because he's not an OBC. Accountability only applies to non-OBC members.

At least Eakins kinda looked like he was doing something on the bench aside from chewing gum

So to summarize Mclellan is friends with Katz so his ass is safe?

Must be best friend's with one of the OBC Oilers. I'd bet good money on that. That's how this team hires its employees, and ultimately which ones it chooses to keep long-term.

Anyone else excited to see Hall, Eberle and the boys come back to Edmonton and Coach and GM for Katz son in 20 years? Since his son grew up with them, only makes sense.

That’s quite the flip flop in 20 minutes when Mclellan hasn’t even had time to beg why he shouldn’t be fired.

I’m calling b.s. on that Twitter account.

Yeah a fairly obvious "Mah Sourcez tell me 100% he's being fired!"

(20 minutes later when he realizes he'll look stupid if this doesn't pan out)

"Emrhargawd! I just have been told that Todd haz friendz in teh high placez! Who knows what will happens!"

I’m not even embarrassed anymore

Well, I’m embarrassed FOR this team.

Well, I’m embarrassed FOR this team. Imagining being Chia. This is a 54 year old man who’s reached this point in his life and his legacy is of incompetence. It’s almost tragic.

Chia could have built a dynasty. All he essentially had to do was draft Barzal. Lol.

Trades the 16th and 33rd pick for Griffin Reinhart. His reasoning? "We needed a D"

If he drafted Barzal and traded RNH instead of Hall for a D he would have McDavid/Hall on one line and Barzal Draistl on the next.

And the worst part is that it didn't end up being bad in hindsight, it was bad from day one.

It's beyond embarrassing.

Then I dont see how it makes much difference who the coach or gm are.

Idk man.. a GM that doesn't trade a superstar winger in Hall for Adam Larsson, picks for Griffin flipping Reinhart, Eberle for Strome just to get money to sign a bottom pairing dman in Russell, etc.

Then a coach who fails to adjust according to the game while yapping all the time about accountability which only applies to players he chooses upon.

My inside sources tell me Chia was ready to pick Barzal at 16, trade up to 18 to take Chabot but Lowe and Mac T simultaneously put him in a head lock and proceeded to beat him up unless he took Griffin Reinhart. They also threatened to beat him again for lining up a Eberle for Subban deal and forcing him to do Hall for Larsson instead.

They then poured red wine on him and laughed maniacally while proceeding to taunt the ex-Bruins exec for beating him in the 1988 and 1990 Finals (even though he wasn't a part of those teams).

True story.

Chia could have built a dynasty. All he had to do was essentially nothing except for draft Barzal. Lol.

Instead, he traded the 16th pick for Griffin Reinhart at that draft. Barzal slid to that spot. He was like. "We need a D"

I would bet my house that he was forced to trade that pick for Reinhart. I hate Chia more than anyone but that trade had Lowe/MacT all over it. They loved him forever.

Also, we would never have drafted Barzal, he is a center and this team was more then set at center.
