65 wins.

Up 3-1 in series.

At home up in 3rd period with one minute to go.

Lose in first round.

Only thing that seems similar is Red Sox overcoming yankees down 3-0 - but even then, it’s not like how this series turned out.

Bruins had most points ever. Florida battled its way in final days.

Wow.
Is is biggest choke job ever. But Boston an old team. Some of their vets were wearing down.

In hindsight, it's impressive that they pushed this unbeatable Panthers team to the brink

I know they can't hang this in the rafters, but they're still probably the 2nd best team of these playoffs (with the jury still being out on Vegas)

Yeah, it looks like Florida played the Stanley Cup finals in their first round. Of that series, the biggest missed moments for the Bruins were two: game 5… at the very last second before OT, Marchand is on a breakaway but Bobrovsky makes the save… game 7, Boston was up 3-2 until one minute from the end. It was very, very close, but no cigar. What a shame.

I'd say it probably is... but many here are too young to remember Gretzky's Oilers literally going from yukking it up to sad, staring disbelief when the got eliminated by the Kings in 1982.

LOL at people patting boston on the back for getting embarrassed in the first round. You guys lost before even the leafs.

"played their cup final in the first round!" wonder how much easier it would have been for Toronto/Carolina if we only had to beat Alex Lyon.

Bobo gave up 4 goals a game against Boston. Ullmark and the D choked for Boston.

And?

That doesn't erase the Leafs massively underachieving yet again, yet you're taking shots at the Bruins?

I'm not even a Bruins fan but that's pretty hilarious.
Well they are so lucky to have brave young men and women like you to stick up for them and pat them on the back after such an embarrassing loss in the cup finals of the first round.

It's a mystery why there's so much Schadenfreude here when the Leafs choke yet again.
Ah yes, the old "we would totally like your team but the fannnns and the mediaaaaaaaa"

No you wouldn't, you would still hate em and that's half the fun of the game. I dont hate boston because of jack edwards or the dumb dumb fans i have to interact with.

Edit: Also hilarious to claim "Schadenfreude" about leafs choking yet be shocked and confused when a leafs fan is mocking bruins fans for choking.

The Leafs lost in 5 to that exact same team though? I wonder which team is more "embarrassed" lol

The Leafs were easily the worst of the three opponents the Panthers have faced thus far, and anyone watching the games knows it.

I'm not shocked and confused at all. It's just fun to watch an arrogant fan mock another team for losing to the Panthers in 7 games that his team almost got swept by.

And I actually like a lot of Leafs players. If I never came to hfboards it'd be easier to root for that team because I wouldn't have much interaction with their fans and could avoid much of the echo chamber media. But any time the Leafs have a modicum of success the ridiculousness here goes up exponentially.
