He has more than Messier.
Yes he does and I would worry about Messier coming in with an agenda that's counter to every thing we've done the last couple years. Chris has been here and every step of the way of the retool/rebuild. There's no point ****ing around with it now.
That being said, I’m all for team chaos. Hire Chiarelli.
Not sure Graves wants that kind of position. It certainly not where his background has been.First name that popped into my head.
JD would be great but he’s not avail right?
Really? What are they waiting for in re upping him????I think his contract is up in Columbus.
Isaiah Thomas! It does not has to be anyone with a hockey background. There are plenty of presidents of NHL teams without a hockey background. They could just as well give it to Steve Mills or bring in someone from the outside.
What experience does Messier have? None.
In 2011, Sather elevated Gorton to AGM. Not Messier.
in 2014, Messier left the organization after the Rangers didn't want to hire as head coach.
In 2015, the Bruins wanted to hire Gorton as their GM. The Rangers said no. Later that summer, Sather stepped down as GM and elevated Gorton to GM. Sather didn't pick Messier to replace him.
Messier is going to be hired as team president to oversee and evaluate Gorton's job? No.
Yeah... absolutely not. There was actually a LeBrun article in the Athletic a couple days ago about Ralph Krueger potentially being willing to return to hockey as a team president (he's currently chairman of the Southampton Football Club in the English Premier League). Could be a decent hire
