Agreed - it's ridiculous to compare a dominant two-way Center with a one-way goalsucking winger that needs double the PP time to score goals at a similar rate.
you wonder why the coverage is so extensive on a team that you choose to not like, yet you still go onto a Toronto Maple Leaf forum to voice your opinions...
this is reason #283850 why that coverage will never go away

I read his post and thought what's the problem, it's not like we're braggin on the main boards, just having a polite discussion among us Leaf fans and I also note that most people seem to disagree rather strongly with the idea that Matthews is the best so what's the problem?
But this guy isn't even a Leaf fan? He just has nothing better to do with his life than to come into our house and talk trash?
That's absolutely hilarious.
We're living inside the heads of more hockey fans than ever. They're scared and that's a good sign!

this was a response to me lol. they were all collectively whining that we were all saying matthews was the best player in the world. i simply posted that the vast majority were disagreeing and saying he was playing like a top 3 to 5 player. thats the response i got. then i got warned about trolling? lol people are so sensitive..its hockey, thats it. peepz need to relax and have a few beers.

It’s always been funny to me as for one thing , I’m a Leaf fan for over 55 years now and I’m not necessarily a fan of the city of Toronto , and when I hear the sports peeps and fans talk trash constantly, I laugh because , firstly B C and Vancouver are simply the most beautiful places on earth , so no comparison on that front , I just feel that unfortunately they / we have small brother envy here as I’ve argued many times with them that psst just in case you didn’t know , TOronto doesn’t really care enough about Vancouver lol so they don’t care about the trash talk and knives as they don’t even think about it ..
So to me it’s just a lot of bloviation going on here for nothing
I used to live in beautiful Kits when I first got here
I said wow , I’m from the hammer and look at me at Kits beach playing volleyball under the backdrop of the majestic mountains , life couldn’t be better , and I’m a leaf fan in Canuck misery lol

It’s amazing how a Leafs fan will get warnings for almost anything. Yet other fans can openly troll leafs fans even on their own board. I remember calling out a Mod and saying that the forums want to promote Leafs trolling because it causes more posts and interest. They didn’t like it but didn’t argue either. Lol
Not even close? There are 5 players who belong in the best-in-the-world conversation. McDavid, Draisitl, Mackinnon, Crosby, and Matthews. I don't really care who goes where, but they're all right there.

there definitely is a discrepancy, i never said anything even close to trolling, and ive never been warned about trolling in 6 years here. its pretty funny in reality.
i will just go to the pool and have a beer and move on with my life, while people on edmontons boards grumble about me and other leafs fans for no reason lol

You're both correct. One is goals per game as a leaf, and the other is goals per game in the nhl
Regardless of the numbers, I think we can safely conclude that Matthews is a better goalscorer than Conacher on account of the fact that Conacher shot on goalies that looked like this:
