Is the original Kraken thread still available where the guy created a whole franchise image and marketing campaign? I’d love to revisit that thread.

NHL Team #33 should hire the entire membership of HFboards as marketing consultants. Boy, have we got some GREAT ideas for their can't-miss brand.

Wait... you think the Kraken came from Pirates of the Caribbean? You do know that the myth of the Kraken has been around for centuries, right?

Just wait until he finds out raptors actually existed and werent created for Jurassic Park. (......yes Im aware whats in the film is not actually a velociraptor, but rather something else)
The name is silly, and stands out amongst North American pro sports teams as the worst name that isn’t a racial slur

Sounds like a beer league name haha

That said I really like the colours and teal is super sharp. Nice unique colour

Nah, Pelicans is quite easily the worst NA pro sports team name.

What a joke.

Goofy name and the big logo reveal for brand new merchandise is a f***ing S.

They must have spent tens of minutes on this.

I think Kracken is worse. Sounds like the name was decided by a super Hardcore fan of the “release the kracken” meme. Or a focus group of 8 year olds lol

Pelicans aren’t exactly birds that strike terror in anyone’s mind but at least they’re plural, and have logical reference as the State Bird

Wild...Lightning....Avalanche...none of those are a singular, mythological animal

Kind of sick of seeing red, white, and blue on a NHL jersey. But I get why they steered away from the blue green what with the Canucks and Seahawks already in the area. Would have gone with black and dark emerald green personally.

Logo is alright, does seem more suited to baseball for some reason though. Not enough tentacles holding hockey sticks IMO.

Don't mind the Seattle Kraken as a name, was the one I always figured they'd go with. Unique, lots of branding opportunities, really not much to dislike about it.

I like the minimalist design
Minimalist design in logos is great, if its good.

This is an S. With a tentacle and an eyeball?!

Its bad and looks like it took 15 mins to conceptualize and design. By a 19 year old intern working at Disney.

It's a mythological monster, like the Jersey Devil. Are the NJ Devils also juvenile and embarrassing?

What if they were called the New Jersey Devil?

Kracken is just weird. Is it plural? Is it related to Seattle at all? Especially since Seattle doesn’t standout as having a strong Scandinavian heritage to me (I could be wrong about that) nor is it in proximity to the Atlantic Ocean

Edit: looks like Seattle and surrounding region does have a sizeable population of Scandinavian heritage
