Typical JD PR stunt...anything to headlines and press.

This post reminds me of that one crazy Blues fan who had some personal vendetta against Davidson and Kekkalainen. I think too much is being read into the situation.

Any kind of positive press the Jackets can generate is good in my opinion. Yes, winning creates the most positive press, but other things such as letting a local yet high profile golfer interact with the players during practice is good also. The negative impact on the team of letting Day practice with them is probably less than letting a single player miss practice once for a maintenance day that he doesn't really need.

This is like the Columbus Dispatch saying the Horton signing was big, but what a great move making Jody Shelley team ambassador!

Enough off-ice stunts, just get to winning and the rest takes care of itself. You don't see Pavel Datsyuk taking pics with Phil Mickelson during the season.

Oh yeah, you figured it out. Do you want to be the one to call Davidson to let him know that they need to have a strategy of "just win," or should I?

We've had a lot of dumb tangents over the years, but this has to be the dumbest one of them all.

So a pro athlete joined the team for a post practice skate. He had fun, some of the players had some fun. Who gives a ****? Move on, get a hobby, go outside, but for pete's sake find something else to discuss and for the rest of you: don't feed the troll.

I'm not adding anymore to the insanity but I hope the boys had fun. Hard work, practice, all that is vital and plays a hugely important role in the success of the team but looking back to last year the guys were at their absolute best when they were relaxed and having fun.

really cool that Jason Day was taking part in practice today

That is cool. I followed around Day and Delaet every match last week during Presidents Cup, and I think it's great that Day has made this area his home. They were the main bright spot for the International squad.

Wiz was honorary observer for Day's pairing on Sunday. When Day cleaned out Snedeker, he followed around Delaet with Wiz and JD.

Yeah, I'm sure Day is really going to move the season tickets. The CBJ aren't like the Leafs who will resort to anything to try and sell tickets...

They really should burn those clothes. And that stick. And the ice.

And the building.

In fact Toronto just needs to give it up.

Bringing Bieber in for a practice is clearly the last gasp for what's obviously a non-hockey market. No real hockey market would ever have to resort to such gimmicks; they're clearly pandering to the giggling 17-year-old girl demographic.

I dunno; I figured the lack of enthusiasm in the arena and the fact that they're losing minor hockey teams had already sealed that particular market's fate, but apparently they keep finding new lows.

It's honestly amazing how long that sun belt team has been able to hold on. :sarcasm:

My family and I met Nathan Horton in Buffalo on 10/10 in the Embassy Suites downtown Buffalo hotel lobby where they stayed as we did...

He was a scratch as we all know he would be (January expected return) but this I can tell you Jacket fans… he’s a cool dude, a great guy who came up to us as soon as he saw our Jacket sweaters on (there were not many CBJ fans there) and asked US if we wanted photos or signings….

Buckle up CBJ fans…. When Horton is ready to play the sky is the limit!!!!! Awesome player, awesome friend, awesome Blue Jacket…..

It still annoys the **** out of me that the Jackets aren't playing an afternoon game on Monday for Columbus Day.

Every time I get a STH survey this is one of the suggestions I make.

The only problem I can find is parking. Nationwide does not take Columbus Day off so a lot of parking spaces that are normally open would not be for an afternoon game.

Glad baby Foligno is doing better.

On a less serious note, I wonder how big the NHL baby boom has been these couple months. it seems there are more than just a couple players' wives have been having babies recently....For the CBJ I believe Letestu welcomed a new one as well, or will be soon.

I believe Sara Tyutin is expecting. Dubinskys as well. Wonder if these are "lockout babies"?
