We do not speak of this. Much like "He who shall not be named."

so what happened? it just died out? nothing ever came of it other than a small mention at the ASG? Seems like an awful lot to invest in an idea that went nowhere.

Seriously though, how many grocery bags of drugs needed to be consumed to write something like this with a straight face?

The Toronto Maple Leaf is the largest of all the Guardians. A fact made more obvious when he "grows" infinitely larger as the need arises. His body is composed entirely of wood. He is a living, breathing maple tree. Large roots that shoot from his feet enable him to secure to any surface. His branches can stretch from his forearms allowing him to snatch up an enemy or keep innocent victims out of harm's way. He fires sticky "sap" bombs from his fingertips that trap his opponents like an insect in amber. You wouldn't know it to look at him, but this humongous Guardian is actually a jokester and is a stand-up comedian at heart.

not in the slightest

Ok. I know I'm known for stupid sarcastic comments, but that was honestly my best guess as to why it was cool that Jason Day was at CBJ practice.

Can someone fill me in on who he is/why he is important?

Jason Day is an Australian pro golfer that lives here and was part of the Presidents Cup this past weekend.

It's interesting, I just don't know anything about golf. Had no idea there was anybody from the golf world living in central Ohio. I don't follow that sport [unless a girl is streaking over the links].

There's also that guy who dropped the puck on opening night...John...Jim maybe? Heard he was a decent golfer. *SAAAAARRRRRCAAAAAASSSSSMMMMMMM!*
I'm not ashamed to admit that the only reason I know about him at all is because we went to the same high school.

(admittedly, many decades apart, but still.)

really cool that Jason Day was taking part in practice today

I thought the country club was over? I don't remember any of Nash's buddies tagging along for practice (unless you count AJ).

Typical JD PR stunt...anything to headlines and press.

It's called pandering to non-hockey fans, trying to get rich people from murfield to buy tickets

 Or..get this.. OR he's friends with James Wisniewski. Got a stick from Jared Boll two years ago and met the team ( Day said so), and got to skate with the team during a down time at practice. You do know players sometimes bring their families to skate after practices? this is basically the same thing.

Or you know, its all for selling tickets and presses and headlines for JD like you said. seems logical.

Speaking of logical, how is Vinny's lawsuit against the CBJ coming? Isn't he suing over the broken gentleman's agreement?

Good franchises in every pro sport do this sort of thing all the time. Bad franchises also do it. Jason Day messing around with the team after the end of practice wouldn't be on my, or any sane person's, list of issues with the Bluejackets.

Serious question. Do you believe this stuff? Because if not it's kinda funny, although not as funny as skimp's.

I called my ticket rep the minute I saw the photo and ordered tickets for the next 18 rounds. I want to see the Jackets win the Claret Jug.
