Don't love the Brick by Brick but I'm digging the rest.

pretty much the same...the fire the cannon one is definitely getting added to my collection

I guess we can add CBJ Homage shirts to college football as an expression of my inner hipster; as extremely limited a resume as that is.

I own 20+ Homage shirts but their new designs are really lacking. The Dos a Cero stuff was terrible and these CBJ shirts are really underwhelming. :help:

Yeah, I can't see what is cool about them. They are printing CBJ marketing on a shirt; for 3 of them. The fourth is art I've seen on other shirts.

They aren't original.

Now if "Fire the cannon" had "That's what sh" - oh never mind.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night! I'll be dipping out of work around 3pm, heading home to change and driving up with my wife for the festivities and see the Jackets (hopefully) take the Flames to the woodshed!

I am optimistic for the Jackets this year, this is probably one of the more exciting teams in the NHL. We have a great group of players who actually want to be here and after knocking on the door of the playoffs last season they are hungry for more.

Not making any predictions and I don't buy ANY of the 'power rankings'. Ever notice most power rankings are just regurgitations of last year's standings? But I guess the sports writers need to publish something.

I am interested in knowing who they will name as the new captain. I think Johnson or Dubinsky would be prime candidates.

Portzline's thoughts on the rebuilding process. Chronological error here:
The players brought in when Rick Nash was traded to the New York Rangers — especially Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov — helped establish a professional approach. Then Nick Foligno and Marian Gaborik arrived.

Foligno was acquired before the Nash trade. The Foligno pickup was July 1, 2012; the Nash trade was July 23, 2012.

It also contains this line.

“It’s always nice to underpromise and overdeliver,†said Davidson, who noted that previous general manager Scott Howson left the cupboard stocked beyond what many realized.

Davidson's quote sounds very familiar. The second part should sound even more familiar.;)

Very interesting here.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 16m

To answer @FriedgeHNIC's on air question, re: Yakupov vs Murray, and I suspect he knew answer: Yes, majority of EDM scouts wanted Murray.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 13m

Decision to take Yakupov over Murray came from a higher authority. That's not indictment of decision, only saying how it was arrived at.

That could mean anything. Amateur scouting director, overall scouting director, GM, VP of hockey ops, team president, or owner. Depending on how much sway he has, the owner's son could be above all them.

One would have to assume that one of the hockey Gods would also be classified as "A Higher Authority."

So Columbus ends up with their man, and apparently also Edmonton's man if not for whoever made that decision. Since it benefited Columbus, we can therefore deduce that Howson is a Hockey God.

Looks like I need to distance myself from you blasphemers.:sarcasm:

I don't know if I'd go for Hockey God, but Howson really did a lot better than many think. He got Tyutin for Zherdev (win), drafted Jenner and Murray, the Nash trade seems to have worked for us, Methot for Foligno helped. Davidson is right in saying Howson left the place in much better shape than most of us thought.

Methot looks really good next to Karlsson. But who wouldn't?

If he had gone to Edmonton in 2012, for say, Paajarvi, we wouldn't even be mentioning Methot.

I wasn't pimping Methot, I was saying that Foligno hasn't lit it up imo.

Foligno has been a part of the culture change ... I think that's a big enough return on Methot to keep me happy. He may not put up a ton of points or wow us on every shift, but he's a blue collar, hard working, two-way guy ... exactly the identity this team has taken on. Really, I think that's a trade that worked out great for both sides.

On topic: If I were a betting man, I would say that Darryl Katz had something to do with the drafting of Nail Yakupov over Ryan Murray. It's obvious to me from everything I've seen/heard, that he's a very hands on owner, and a guy who prefers up-tempo hockey. We'll likely never know, but this is just my hunch.

If we never traded Methot it's safe to say that this team probably wouldn't have Murray and JJ on the roster.

JJ was traded on the team when Methot was on the team, and Murray was drafted when Methot was on the team.

Yes, I think it's safe to say that Methot was traded because of the arrival of Johnson and Murray ... at least in part.

..And Methot was drafted by xGMDM, therefore the rebuild was all due to the brilliance of Doug MacLean.

Dougie Mac wins again!!! :handclap:
