Injury Report: Injury Thread Pt. II (Del Zotto has surgery to repair sports hernia)

A fraction of an inch down and we might never have seen Staal play another game. Someone should try to talk to Danny G about a visor.

Staal described the injury. Torts said the Rangers expect Staal to be back.

i have a question... is it like the Bryan Berard type of eye injury or the Manny Malhotra injury?? reason i ask is. what if down the road, it gets so bad for Staal that he has to retire like Berard and Malhotra has done.. eyes injuries are series and a person's day to day health is more important than anything.

#NYR forwards Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin both underwent successful surgeries to repair torn labrums in their left shoulders

Playing a contact sport with a labrum tear is no walk in the park. Kudos to them.

With aggressive PT, they'll be full strength in 3-6 months. I had no idea they were playing through shoulder problems.

Clearly this is inaccurate. Those two are just playoff chokers:sarcasm:

Just increases the odds of more depth low end UFAs or that guys like Miller, Fast, and Thomas WILL start the season with the big club.

That's cool with me.

Lindberg is a cetner so that shouldn't really affect him as much.

thank God that ficking system is GONE!

Can we just add a Tortorella subtitle to every thread? You don't tear too many labrums blocking shots. The NHL game is very physical. Even more so come playoff time. If this were Cally breaking his foot on Chara clapper that'd be one thing to debate but this? Come on.

EDIT: Also, these guys are warriors.

Could explain why Cally's late breakaway was a lame backhand, which he almost never uses. Not getting much behind a shot with that shoulder.

Well, I need to apologize. I was hard on Cally because - forget that he wasn't scoring - he wasn't even hitting and running amok like he usually does.

Now I know why. My bad, Cally.

I hope the Cally of old returns next year with a new shoulder, and a new coach. I want to see him finishing all of his check the way he used to.

Not surprised about Callahan.. We knew he had a shoulder injury from the fight with Talbot. Hagelin though... when was his injury suffered? That Ovechkin hit? Thought that was more of a leg injury.
